Simple spambots like that target everywhere all the time, it just happens that the archive wiki was a place where they could actually register and spam.

I'm aware. I'm js it would be something to keep in mind for a long term solution rather than nuking the archives.

Nuking the archive wasn't my long term solution. Doing that and then just reloading the archive later is more convenient than having to go through and delete all of the spam pages/accounts.

Spam bots register on all kinds of forums, not just this one.

Yeah, Tinkerbell, these were the type of bots that target internet sites all the time and abuse insecure systems that they can find.

Lmao. This is why i use adblock in the first place. Either control those ads better or just don't.
Are you it's a dating ad one anyway? It could be really deep.

Can you take a screenshot of that next time you see it so I can report it? I approve all of the ads that show up on this site by hand (and I don't think I've approved one for a dating site that had such pictures) except for the ones run by Google.

This one's different than the last one I saw, however it still is a dating ad.

I think it's best for you to use Adblock since it blocks these annoying ads ¯\_ツ_/¯

I was using Adblock at one point, but it slowed down my computer a bit and it doesn't work on my phone, which I use to browse the forums most of the time.

Actually, I'd make money regardless of whether or not you use Adblock.
None of my ads are ever invasive or inappropriate (save for a potentially inappropriate ad that PixelPest saw, in which case I would report it) so using Adblock for this site is petty and does nothing but decrease viewership for the people bidding for the ad space.

Yeah, the ads on this site are really not at all invasive - I have an adblock extension but I disable it for this site.

That ad invaded my mentality.

So, y'all will probably notice that we have a...new addition to the staff team.
Please don't bother him with PMs.
