I edited my post before you replied. Sorry.
What I meant to say was you guys keep bashing on vanilla looking tiles. Why can't someone make something look like it was from Super Mario Bros 3 and not "THE SMBX COMMUNITY".

Again, he said it looks generic.
He said NOTHING about it being vanilla GFX.
And to be honest
Vanilla GFX are boring.

Look me in the eyes and honestly tell me that you would be interested in playing a vanilla level over a level with GFX and good gameplay without actually trying to choose the vanilla level out of sympathy.
If vanilla levels are really that interesting , then the majority would be making it instead.
Buuutt.. thats not the case.
Those who often choose to make vanilla levels either 1. Seek to be different from the majority 2. Trying to do something different or 3. Is a noob and doesn't know how to use, nor care about using custom GFX.
Not saying vanilla levels are bad, they're just boring because hell, everyone's seem em like hundreds of times.

I would be interested in playing a vanilla level over a level with CGFX. Also Gameplay has nothing to do with this, so I'm assuming you're saying CGFX = Gameplay.

No not really. I'm more certain it's the fact that people would be shot down for making a Vanilla level.

Or 4. Want to recreate that feeling of playing Mario from the console games. Ever think of that?

Thats a dumb reason actually sry but thats the truth. You showed me once again that this community is obsessed with cgfx.

No I said custom GFX and good gameplay, reading is a good thing. Also, maby thats just you trying so hard to like vanilla GFX, but you're just one person. The majority clearly shows levels with Great gameplay and CGFX are more enjoyable than Vanilla levels with good gameplay.

Well ok, whatever but I have yet to see this. But SURE I also guess that everyone makes levels with CGFX are only doing it because they're so scared of being shot down.
Yea right

So you can't have Vanilla GFX and Good Gameplay? Again, we were talking about the graphics and NOT gameplay. That's why I interpreted what you said as so.

Another thing; vanilla graphics can be used in interesting ways. Just look at the high-ranking levels in the Vanilla Contests.

Ofc, but if a Custom GFX was used in just the same way it would ultimate trump the vanilla gfx level.
It's not a bad thing, it's just completely subjective.
but it's the majority that counts.
EDIT:
I suggest you read that over again Rudeguy, untill it clicks.

I clearly state that it is possible for vanilla levels to have good gameplay.

No, not really, unless the person judging both of these hypothetical levels had a hate-boner for vanilla GFX, kinda like someone in this thread.
Not every level has to look "modern" to be amazing, m8.
