As an addition to that, one or two inactive players doesn't make that much difference anyway since It's rare for special roles to be inactive and a few less townies doesn't really matter.

The only problem is though that 1 or 2 inactives can effect the balance of the game.

We've had plenty of instances where special roles are inactive, whether it's the Town or Mafia. Some people tend to sign up for games and they simply refuse to participate, regardless of what role they received.

Yeah, there's been too much inactivity in the last few games to justify another host sign-ups right now.
If enough people express interest, we'll post another host sign-ups. Otherwise, we should wait another month or two, I think - Mafia seems to be at its most popular when it's been a while since the last game.

Well, that's a pity. The two hiatus phases we had after M20 and the failed M24 were broken up by a game master posting a game with 11 or 8 players after a month or two.
Maybe reset the "are you interested in mafia" poll?

The only time mafia will be played is if we have unoffical mafia games in the sandbox, if so possible to show intrest, regardless of balance or not, Which i believe is better then going on hiatus, if possible, although people will spam the form with thier mafia games but whatever, i really want us to not go on hiatus, and if possible keep this small community we have right now going. It may not work i understand that, but it might if we give it a shot

Was M24 the game I tried to host and not enough people signed up?

A generic game is good for new players as it is basic and easy to play, and could raise the interest for Mafia.
I think that the very first games (M1, M2) were designed to be easy by Joey because it was the first time for everyone involved, and then we continuously proceeded to making more advanced games. Right now, if we want to gain more attention and if we won't see the inactives (Nien, PaperPlayer, HeroOfRhyme etc.) returning, a basic game is not recommendable because people can already see all the advanced games. We should find a balance of something that's cool but not too difficult (and the games previously posted already go in that direction).
We should probably also refurbish the stickies about rules and about the charms of this game. New people say that the rules look too complicated, maybe they could be made simpler.
Also trying to recruit players from Mafia-only sites is pretty much a last resort; to my knowledge some big Mafia sites also disallow that you advertise for players there.

Sanct has informed me that he will be posting the player sign-ups in about 2 days due to unfortunate timing.

Why don't you post them earlier? You have power to change post owner actually

I'm afraid to post in M35 there because I've got replaced by someone. Since, I don't absolutely know how to play Mafia to be honest. I'm afraid to post in here too. Like can I post a question ? I'm going to have more focuses.

You need to be more active, it is common for inactive players to be replaced

If you don't know how to play Mafia why did you join in the first place?

You have already been replaced and should no longer post in the M35 thread. Feel free to ask any questions you have in this thread, though!

This type of passive-aggressiveness is what drives people away from Mafia in the first place, just as a future reminder.

Ah, that's a nice of ya. I'll probably take more focuses on strategies.
