Pokemon is just basically a science game. If you know science, like water beats fire, fire burns grass and grass cuts water, then you should be set. Though some of these new ones can be confusing.

Well in the beginning posts they said things about the newer ones having a worse storyline. Also what I mean by old is like platinum

Reshiram looks sexy, but I skipped on PokeBlack.
I thought he was classified as dragon? Dragon moves must be the only thing that the last of the Elite four must have picked two of them for.
Nah Gyarados is definitely Water/Flying. Water/Dragon is only weak to Dragon, and there were no normally damaging Dragon moves in Generation I, so that typing would've been incredibly overpowered.
Maybe that's why they don't put in kingdra until way later because kindra is water/dragon.

Anyways, my LVL 100 Reshiram will destroy ALL YOUR POKEMON! (assuming you only use gen 5 or earlier... ) Yeah, no Pokemon before gen VI was resistant to both Fire and Dragon, so I own everyone.
Um assuming I have a garchomp (because I do) No you don't.

Easy. Use a one hit ko move. Like Sheer cold, and that would take it out. I believe so wouldn't Ice or ground attacks too.

because dark being strong against ghost, fairy being strong against dragon, flying being strong against fighting, psychic being strong against poison are all facts discovered by science

Well, in these cases, we use logic from fairy tales, like the fact that there are legends that only fairy magic can defeat dragons. Also back in the day when fairy type wasn't a thing, psychic was sort of the "magic" type, and because some magicians have healing powers, they could heal poison.
In other cases just use common sense. Flying is strong against fighting because it's hard for a ground-bound fighter to hit a bird who can pretty much move in three dimensions. I know that I read somewhere that dark being strong against ghost has to do with Japanese folklore, but I don't remember what exactly it said. I would say that the "dark" type is pretty much fighting unfair, cheating and using tricks to defeat your oponent. Maybe not even ghosts stand a chance against cheap tricks?

I like to think of the Dark Type as nothing can handle SWAGGER

Psy is supposed to be everyone's "fears" like:dark, bugs, ghost etc.

Is that why Psychic is weak to those types???

I mean, it's never been officially said, but it probably is the reason. It makes a lot of sense.

Have you ever thought why bugs are weak to fire, rock, and flying. Stones kill bugs, fire burns them to crisp, and birds eat em.

I've heard the dragon weakness as being because a dragon is the only thing that can rival another dragon or whatever, and the ice weakness is because dragons, as pseudo-reptiles, are cold-blooded and cannot survive in low temperatures.

So basically what your saying is dragons are metroids and if someone used a ice move on you, it would be super effective because your "Pseudo" Dino

I myself am a pokenerd and absolutely love pokemon. My favorite game is Emerald, with X being in second place. I honestly think that gen 4 isn't the best, only because of the lack of unique routes. But, uhh... yeah... I play without using legendaries, one of the 2 in the world that don't. So... uhh... yeah... this has nothing to do with the discussion above.

Yeah. I considered saying "no pun intended" but I wasn't sure if anyone would notice or not, hehe.
