You should think of a theme that relates to the world, but hasn't been used before, and then use it in your level. Make sure it is a central theme though, as you can work off this and make a unique level.

That sounds complex  maybe I can get inspiration from someone else level...
BTW The reason why I want to "remake" some things is because I've been a bit lazy designing the levels if I tell you the truth (with a clear exception of the 1-3)

I loved this map, it is very well made and has a beautiful coloration.

PROJECT NEVER DIES!!!
Rebember I said I was going to make a new first level? take a little view
A shorter view from the 1-3 level
Unfortunate Sanctuary gets a better look
Added rain to the cementery level
What's this? a SMW styled forest
Take a look at the random mushroom  only found in hidden areas
What is that? the new worldmap
And finally some plot!
(Note, that's not the definitive sprite of the main antagonist, I'm going to update it soon
THIS PROJECT ISN'T DEAD!
(But is still looking for level designers)

New screens look good! I recommend you to use ":" instead of "=" when someone is talking.

I'm going to use the "=" only in this project then, because I liked the "=" since I saw it in the Super Mario Galaxy X dialogues

Because it's the most popular version. You can still play it on 2.0 tho.

Have you heard about custom graphics?
The playable Yoshi replaces Link and Captain Toad replaces Toad but just in a minigame
