That does not answer any SMBX related questions though. That FAQ is by phpBB and is found on every forum using phpBB as its hosting platform and is about how to use the said forums.

That would make more sense, and actually is a pretty good idea, as they would sort of stick to the top of the page.
However, what happens when there are so many stickied topics, it requires more than one page? (It probably won't get to this stage, but just a precaution of it ever does)
Would there be multiple sticky pages in one section, and multiple 'normal' pages in the section below?
Example of what I mean: show Announcements
-----
Stickied
(Up to 25 per page)
-----
Normal
(Up to 25 per page)

I'm not sure if the board software generally allows to have local announcements (because that's what stickies would be under this suggestion) separated from global announcements. There's also not a huge amount of stickies in any subforum (Mafia has ten, Help & Support has nine, General has eight), so for me it's fine either way

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Something dawned on me right now, and it concerns the state of the Levels forum.
As you all probably know, a new system was rolled out last summer that forces you to post all your levels in one topic as a "collection" presumably to avoid clutter. It seemed to be working fine at first, with people following the rule per se. But what I've noticed is that the rule is starting to fall into disuse. We still get topics getting locked because they need to post levels in one topic, but it seems to be happening less frequently, to the point where it's almost unnoticeable. The system has also most likely been forgotten by some members, especially that its only mention in the forum rules is just one sentence, and no real sanction against it like a board warning or a ban (the latter might be a bit too over the top), thus meaning that it's really easy to overlook that small detail. Not just that, but there's also been an influx in individual level topics.
Something needs to be done about this system - it should either be enforced more strongly or just removed altogether. In my opinion they should just remove it altogether considering that it's not working.

This kind of thing is actually possible using the forum software; it's been used in a few places in this forum's history with like contests and other stuff pertaining to specific forums.

I think the rule should be enforced more strongly and not outright removed, since removing it would just create clutter again. Also, I don't get why it's not stated at all in the level forum rules.

It is, but it's not apparent:
The rules wrote:You're welcome to make a topic for yourself as a place to post all of your levels for people to give you feedback.
From the wording alone, it suggests that making a topic for all your levels is optional, rather than mandatory, which could explain the amount of individual level topics in the forum. The problem with things like this is that it seems like they're aimed at people that were around when the rule became a thing, and when newcomers flocked in they wouldn't know that it's actually a rule, especially if they're veterans who came from older sites where this wasn't a thing. Also, on a slightly-related note:
The rules also wrote:You must include a screenshot when posting a level. Only one screenshot is required, and this must be an 800x600 (or 400x300) lossless image and must be embedded into your post. This means no JPEGs and no fullscreen/stretched/blurry images
Again, this is concerning a rule falling into disuse, and it even encompasses the Projects/Episodes forums as well as this. The rules state that your images must be 800x600 and should not be in JPEG format. However, this part seems to have fallen by the wayside and now it's just on whether the topic has screenshots or not, or if it's a project, has 10% of screenshots per levels/worlds. If it's stated in the rules then you'd expect topics to be locked or deleted if they have JPEG screenshots, and I've even seen examples of topics that have JPEG screenshots yet they aren't locked for this reason ( this one, for example - this technically should be locked due to JPEG screenshots...). Can something be done about either enforcing this rule more strongly or just getting rid of it?

I never even knew those screen rules were there, we should definetly do something about some of the newer rules to make them more clear.
Edit:
That could be used, but it would take a long time to make and set up, so we need to have a good level forum in the meantime. Also, some users might still prefer to post/post alongside the level portal in the level forum.

Snessy the duck wrote:I belive the "How did you find SMBX" category in your profile should be less strict by allowing you to type in how you found SMBX by yourself. There's some people who found SMBX in a way that's not listed, so it would be a good idea to give them the ability to type it in by themselves. Also, the fact that you must fill that in is kinda unfair, considering some people could forget how they found SMBX, me included.
Also, this:

I agree, cuz I choosed that I discover smbx by watching a video, but the real reason is deeper.

i've always been thinking... why don't we add a "gender" status that appears below the name of the user? like the "current project" and "chat username"?

That would be utterly useless. It's very easy to fake your gender online, and it even happened fairly recently as well - it was found that Mable had trolled everyone into thinking he was a Turkish woman when in fact he's a German man.

Pretty much every forum lets you choose a gender.

What does that have to do with this one not having a gender option?

We could use a gender option too? So people are not confused anymore which pronouns to refer to another person, and if somebody wants to troll with their gender it doesn't make a difference if they use a profile tab or just claim it loudly / put it in their sig whatsoever.

Yeah like myself/Practical put our gender in the signature. They should not troll what gender they are or just leave the gender to "none specified" especially for spammers/spambots that got mark as "spam". It would be nice if there is an icon gender left to our username(including the viewing member profile). Or Talkhaus' pronoun like "she/her", "him/his" and more of them.
