Hello again. ^_^
After a month of inactivity because of my vacation, I can now proceed with revamping levels from my project. I almost finished world 4 now, which means that there is only world 5 and a couple other levels left to be revamped.
And according to the voting results, there will be a final demo or - if you like to call it so - an open beta. It will not be ready within the next days, so I am sorry for all who voted for something to play over the holidays, but I highly suggest that the beta is ready somewhere next month. I want to have a good and playable beta for you, so unfortunately I need some more time than expected. Sorry again. :-/
I am also a bit surprised that no one fell for the "I just want the graphics, not the levels"-trap. Maybe it was too obvious. xD
I like to thank all the people who gave their vote for the poll. Now I know for real that a beta is liked, even it it asks for a download of a custom .exe. :-)
But now, please have some screenshots of the revamped levels:
I made new custom-designed trees for the level backgrounds of world 4, so there are no ugly redesigned SMB3 snowland-trees anymore. Many people especially disliked the background in level 4-1, so this problem should be fixed now.
Additionally, there are now checkpoints in all the levels, too.

Also, on monday I will be on a vacation for the next 4 weeks, so I will not be able to work onto my project within that time.
That confuses me because of the first point of the post
By this I was referring to the month december, while I made that post in november, by which I meant that I will have more free time from december on. :-)
Supershroom wrote:Oh nice. I wouldn't mind downloading a custom exe.
In this case, the custom .exe is 131MB in size, because of all the custom sounds, music, and GFX. I know that this is a bit much, but there is no other way for me to handle this, since my project already uses all the dummied-out elements. I will look deeper into this, when SMBX 2.0 is out of its beta-state.

In the actual case, there will be no visual beta, since there will be an open beta instead, according to the votes. I will be happy for your videos. Maybe you can break something legitimately. ^^

This would be cool to see. I do not know how you handle lets plays, but I like the way you do commentary, judging from the video of MECHDRAGON777 where you co commentated. :-)
Supershroom wrote:Looks like it's a tie between "yes" and "no". (EDIT or it was)
Officialy it is now a yes. ^^

thank you very much. ^-^ Maybe you will have a use from all the new levels and elements in the upcomming beta. In any way, I am happy that you made PGE so I can utilize all these neat special things for my little project. :-D
bossedit8 wrote:The Bramble level looks much better now... also I'm more into playing the full version to the game so I can get into it without restrictions of playing anything on a SMBX Episode or if there are some unfinished business going on and such to go by. Eitherway, I'm so prepared for it's full version!
I respect that, and to be honest, one of the votes for "No - I rather like to play the full game." came from me. xD So sorry for cheating, but I would not have counted that one anyways, so no problems here. ^^
I cannot really wait to see your playthrough of my episode. It certainly will be in the upcomming year, as there are only 2 worlds and a couple of extra levels left to do.
TNTtimelord wrote:The bramble levels look a little distracting to me. Everything is really bright and the foreground blends in a little too well with the background.
I already edited the brambles to be darker, so this should be no problem anymore. Also, please take into consideration the paralax and general moving, so I like to ensure you that you should have no problems with the level. :-)
