One quick noob question, what SMBX "version" are you using ?My guess it's 1.3.0.1.
Correct. I wanna keep things simple while 2.0 is in production. i don't want to make new episodes in 2.0 until it's out of beta for good.
That's a smart idea. Though I don't think it would be too bad to use Beta 4 for another project.

Not if there already was a reply.

This project looks nice. Even if it takes a few more months or years to finish it will be worth it.

Just keep pushing on. Updates are not as important as progress. Good job.

I'm again positively surprised about the comeback announcement already. Follow it man.

Howdy. I made a handful of changes to the primary post for you all to read, so take a look there. Also check out the new poll as I will try to keep up with it every week to two weeks...or just periodically over time.

I'm gonna post here as well though that I am looking for a an experienced level designer and a boss designer to join the team. PM me on discord or PM me on the forums to discuss your interests and qualifications.

Also here's a recently finished 4-1 for the forest world for some proof of progress on my end.

Ohai there!

So, what's the status of the levels listed in the OP? Are they all complete? (I doubt)

Also you said there will be 81 levels but so far I counted 73 levels.

Most of them aren't. The main post only specifies who is working on which level.

With specific level status I’ve been paying closer attention of progress on a separate google drive sheet, which is way easier to update than this main post. I’ll relay that sheet information better on here overtime though.

The main thing is a handful of levels are technically done, but because of upcoming adjustments with NPCs and such there will be plenty of changes that’ll need to be fixed in finished levels.

Bosses are treated with their levels as well. So you have 73 standard levels, and then 8 levels with a boss at the end so it’s technically 81.

Throwing in another small screenshot out of generosity. Here's 4-4 Treetop Town! I'll post a screenshot from the poll once there's way more votes than what is currently present.

I hope to win your hearts back soon.

Canopy Climb sounds interesting. Are you using levels from all 3 original games?

For how I laid out this episode, I want to keep a majority of the levels closely tied with themes from the first game. That being said there's a handful of other themes and gimmicks from the other games that will likely appear here.

The vote was a tie, so I randomly chose one. Here's 1-3 Bone Cave by RoundPiplup (God rest his soul).

Here is 2-1 Heat Sand Crossing (Sorry it said 2-7 on the poll and such. That has been fixed)

Another small update. I removed the original demo that was there for how outdated it was, and with more updates to come from those levels in it. Alternatively I plan to release a few levels over time on my own level thread for you all to check out and play to replace any sort of demo. They will only be the levels I solely made (as that would not be fair to the designers who made their own levels), and I don't plan on releasing too many of them either.

Other designers reading this you have my permission to share levels you made, but please ask ahead of time which level it may be and don't go overboard with posting too many of them (say 20-25% of your work for the episode max).

Otherwise keep voting for what levels you want to see screenshots of, and hopefully I can deliver something to you all this weekend.

This project looks fantastic! I love the SNES DKC trilogy as well as the Returns and Tropical Freeze games. I really wish I could play some of the levels that have been done for this. Also, if you are using DKC trilogy music for this, you got me sold!

I'm almost tempted to apply for a level designer in this. I haven't done anything for SMBX yet, but I've made several Super Mario Maker 2 levels that have gotten good feedback. I even made a Bramble Scramble-like level that someone recorded and uploaded to YouTube and got fairly popular. Here it is in case you are curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qATuDSxjDzQ&t

However, don't mind me. I still have to get more familiar with the use of SMBX (even though I used it years ago, SMBX2 has a lot of features that are very new to me).

If you have some good SMM2 levels that can be fit with the DK style, why not remake them!
