Calm down. What are you talking about?

Now I like awkwardly talking on vc with long periods of silence as much as the next guy, but if some of ya fellas could speak up about ErisBot that would be great.

The remove of media was imo a bad move. Literally every server has general and media split into two, to prevent message cluttering.

Either that or there's just two general channels, to have a backup channel if the main one is too trafficked. I fully agree.

I agree as well, at least keep the general stuff away from SMBX stuff and image spam.

While I support the idea of bringing the media channel back, take a step back and think about if it really garners discussion or not. The most I've seen out of it is somebody starts spamming a bunch of bad memes, somebody responds, and then a flood of more bad memes or random screenshots of levels are posted. It really gathers no discussion, it's just there to collect all of the images, and it's not like everybody used it for its intended purpose anyway, because even with it around, people still posted images to the general channel in the first place.

I think the intention of having it removed was because it didn't do anything. I'm pretty sure if you were to receive a reply from Joey, it would be along the lines of "Give me one good reason why it should come back".

I wouldn't encourage having #media back for the sake of poor memes. Spam stays spam and therefore should be treated as spam no matter in which channel it's posted in. #media is/was supposed for images and videos with some actual quality - the most prominent example being SMBX stuff. Since images and gifs eat up space, #media helps to have #general less cluttered. Even if there wasn't much going on in #media, it definitely had a use.

I'd be more supportive of the media channel if it was actually moderated to some extent.

If pointless meme spam is an issue (which I think it is), what if we reintroduced the media channel as "showcase". Like on discodehaus, this channel would just be for screenshots and videos that you have made, as well as spritesheets, etc. It could be stated as being "a channel to share screenshots, videos, spritesheets, etc. that you have created and wish to show off"

That discussion is fine for #general.

Seems like a bad move considering vc users migrated already, and how unpopular this change is already. And invites are disabled so that this thread has to be found in order to join? Tragic.

We don't need #media because we don't need a place where people can post irrelevant images that nobody responds to. If you have something you want to share, do so in #general as it's welcome there as long as you don't post a lot of large images.

Can I also vouch for the fact that #mafia is just being used in place of #media, and it's kind of unnecessary?

They're doing it as a pointless protest to bring back the #media channel.

Come on guys, I think this community has proved time after time that breaking a certain rule in an attempt to protest said rule doesn't ever work.

I don't know it seems to be working. People are migrating and the staffers seem upset. :/

So the goal is just to make the staff upset?

No? It seems like there's irritation now that people are disagreeing with the silly decision to remove the media channel, and it's not just being swept under the rug now that people are just leaving for better Discords for SMBX. Staffers being upset is just a reaction to that.
