I don't think he should claim because anyone can claim their the cop and they might be an overused meme, and all the docs gonna be doing is saving an overused meme

Actually there's an easy way around this without killing anyone. If the person that claimed to ZM12 isn't the sheriff/ZM12 is an overused meme and just pretends to know who the sheriff is, then the real sheriff just needs to counterclaim. He can inspect someone and if they turn up to be a good meme then reveal themselves to them. So if ZM12 is saying the truth, there won't be a counterclaim, unless the overused memes want to take the opportunity to trick us, which won't work for more than one night, unless they sacrifice one of their own people by revealing them as overused meme, which they wouldn't do if they're not completely dumb.

Well, no one else has claimed to know/be the sheriff, so unless the role doesn't exist I don't see much reason to doubt Zeldamaster for the time being. Of course, this doesn't mean we should trust him either, but I can believe that he was at least contacted by someone claiming to be the sheriff.
