There is something I can show y'all in the meantime, though! I've been working on these fellas over the past couple days:Enjl just said there would be a new blog post soon.
Sorry for late reply. However, that's awesome Wohlstand! Also, I've updated the sprite sheet right here:Wohlstand wrote:Perfect! I'll take those sprites for some experiments in PGE config packsLegend-tony980 wrote:I haven't been around for quite awhile. I tried this version and it was pretty amazing though! Also, I've seen someone has made Link in a Frog Suit. Awesome!
If there are plans for a new version, would Link be able to do stuff like these:I've made sprites like these for Redigit's development before he turned me down in October 2010. After losing my files in 2014, I searched for them everywhere. Eventually, I had the idea of extracting sprites from .gif images I submitted on the internet and I have them back.Spoiler: show
The sprites featured in the .gif files are featured there:And no, those ain't no April Fools joke. Those are the real deal.Spoiler: show
No offense, but it seems like the green panser's fireballs need to be offset a little to the right. Otherwise it's perfect!rockythechao wrote:Patience, young grasshoppers. To all questions: Not right now, I hope eventually.FanofSMBX wrote:I have three questions about new NPCs!
1. Is it now possible to combine Thwomp and Maverick Thwomp since they use the same sprites? (like how jumping cheep, swimming cheeps, etc. are the same NPC)
2. Is it possible to duplicate an NPC? For example, to make an upside down podoboo would you have to rewrite the podoboo code from scratch, or just swap the "move up and down" bits, use the opposite verticality of graphics (like, the "resting" podoboo is down, so the resting vertical one would have to be up), and have a new upside down lava effect?
3. Are effects now able to use frame codes (for example, a Goomba effect with two directions, new framespeed, and 8 frames)?
Sorry. Thanks for answering. I don't mean to belittle anyone's efforts, but I thought Horikawa said that the SMBX source code was unnecessary, but it doesn't seem like SMBX is fully hacked yet.Enjl wrote:To all questions: Not right now, I hope eventually.FanofSMBX wrote:I have three questions about new NPCs!

Though you can edit the properties of an effect with lunalua.
I love the bow and arrow ideas. Probably wouldn't be too difficult eitherLegend-tony980 wrote:
That is a good edit of the Parabeetle. Please be sure to credit Squishy Rex and the SMW ASE Team for that. Also, I wouldn't mind waiting longer for SMBX 2.0 if it meant that NPCs could be hooked more.Enjl wrote:Whoops, looks like I dropped an image related to the blog post...
