1. Is it now possible to combine Thwomp and Maverick Thwomp since they use the same sprites? (like how jumping cheep, swimming cheeps, etc. are the same NPC)
2. Is it possible to duplicate an NPC? For example, to make an upside down podoboo would you have to rewrite the podoboo code from scratch, or just swap the "move up and down" bits, use the opposite verticality of graphics (like, the "resting" podoboo is down, so the resting vertical one would have to be up), and have a new upside down lava effect?
3. Are effects now able to use frame codes (for example, a Goomba effect with two directions, new framespeed, and 8 frames)?

If there are plans for a new version, would Link be able to do stuff like these:
I've made sprites like these for Redigit's development before he turned me down in October 2010. After losing my files in 2014, I searched for them everywhere. Eventually, I had the idea of extracting sprites from .gif images I submitted on the internet and I have them back.
The sprites featured in the .gif files are featured there:
For anyone's information, the palettes on the right are the real Super Mario Bros. 3-styled colors, in contrasts to Redigit's palettes. Just saying.
By the way, I also thought about having items exclusively for Link, such as a Hookshot and Bow & Arrows.
Instead of Blue Link shapeshifting into a Fairy everytime he glides, how about he flies in his human state with wings or does a double jump like Toad does (rolling jump)?

To all questions: Not right now, I hope eventually.
Though you can edit the properties of an effect with lunalua.

Sorry. Thanks for answering. I don't mean to belittle anyone's efforts, but I thought Horikawa said that the SMBX source code was unnecessary, but it doesn't seem like SMBX is fully hacked yet.

That is a good edit of the Parabeetle. Please be sure to credit Squishy Rex and the SMW ASE Team for that. Also, I wouldn't mind waiting longer for SMBX 2.0 if it meant that NPCs could be hooked more.
All graphics sources are properly credited.
I drew the big beetle using the small beetle as base. Can you show me what you mean by Squishy and ASE team?
