I really like the aesthetics of that level, I love YI graphics. Also, did you use Parallax or foreground BGO's to get the background in front of the blocks?

Thank you ! :D I used a normal BGO without being a foreground, and I painted the outside of the chart the same color as the tileset.

No, it's more because the thwomp are very close to the ground, it's just waiting for the luigi to resurrect!
