Ahhhhh I hate to suggest something right after a beta comes out, but it's something that we'd all like to see whether we thought about it before or not. What about adding a "smart" Firebar placer that does the Firebar numbering for you? It would save a bunch of time! ;)

It already added
Watch out my old video:
It was my old idea too, but I finally implemented it and my drean - is reality!
How to use it?
1) take firebar item
2) check "auto-increment" checkbox in the properties box
3) switch into "DrawLines" mode with ctrl+d
4) voila, draw firebars quickly
P.S. The direction detects automatically relative to line angle. I made detection AFTER publishing of than video

Laboratory mirror was moved!
Hello!
I have a good news for people whom annoyed to download via slow-speed connection!
PGE Project now is registered on the Gna!,
and we are got ability to host PGE builts and config packs on the server with a better download speed!
Welcome to the new laboratory place!
http://home.gna.org/pgewohlstand/
P.S. Later I will re-program online installer to take it download from GNA instead of engine.wohlnet.ru, but not online installer will still download packages from slow connection with engine.wohlnet.ru server.
EDIT: Online Installer has been updated! http://download.gna.org/pgewohlstand/de ... loader.exe
(The download speed should be faster than was before)

OH MAN I FIGURED OUT HOW TO CRASH IT!!!*
*more specifically, PGE v0.2.2-rc
Ok so I pressed Ctrl + Z after attempting to resize a sizable right after placing it. The sizable was taken away, but the blue box was not. When I pressed enter (for lulz of course) to confirm the blue box's action, the program crashed. Hooray for bugs!
Simple logic error, though. Don't worry about it. :P
Also, why doesn't the fill feature obey the level boundaries? :(

Try to install PGE 0.3.0-beta (take Online Installer, I updated it and now it should download faster [it will marked 'GNA' in the title]) and check if crash left or fixed and report me again

Yep, same thing happened! Here's the log:
It wrote:We're sorry, but PGE Editor has crashed.

4: - 0x0
3: - 0x0
2: UnhandledExceptionFilter - 0x76ebf510

Poor beat-up kitty :( That black eye is a little too much for my soft side.

Ow, I should add protection (Ctrl+Z will NOT work if resizing mode is active, instead of it will be triggered "cancel resize" slot). When I will apply fix, you can take fixed build via online installer
EDIT: Just fixed: https://github.com/Wohlhabend-Networks/ ... 00ac9f13bf
Wait for updates (I will update this post after upload of the updates)
EDIT-2: Fix Already available via online installer! (0.3.0-beta of 29 march 2014 building date)

I posted a problem about tileset blocks and them always appearing whatever level I went in, but I figured out the problem. They were in the world folder, but I couldn't delete them without searching through This PC. I did this, and now Mario's (Not So) Mini Adventure will always use PGE!

In next time careful with creating of tilesets: use the "Level/world specific tileset" checkbox to keep this tileset saved in the custom folder of level instead of common episode folder

How do you make it so when you select a tile, the item properties won't pop up? I've looked for the settings in the editor, but I can't find any.

Oops, accidentally skipped this part:
To enable limit by section boundaries you need to enable a special flag:
1) Switch filling mode
2) Enable flag "Edit -> Don't fill out of section", and flood filling will be limited with section boundaries

Another small nitpick:
I can't see what I'm doing when I'm not snapped to grid :(
Well that's just great, it won't let you see the cursor. But it has this icon that looks like a piece of paper with a + sign in the middle, and a folded corner at the top. It follows my mouse and it's just to the bottom and to the right a little bit. I can't see behind it, but I need to see behind it if I want to make these square edges. :(

Don't worry, it's a "placing" cursor, the hot spot is a point on the cross. The abstract ghost item should help you to place item correctly. If you draw sizable blocks or water/quicksand, remember: relative to MIDDLE OF CROSS.
Quick question: which device you use to run editor?
Your mouse cursor usually transforms into special cursors which means the current editing mode: selecting, placing, drawing line, drawing square, etc.
Also note:
GRID is always snapping (if enabled) when you in placing/draw modes
GRID applyng when you move selected item or group if items AFTER movement
P.P.S> in the "themes" folder you can customize any cursors and icons

I think you meant to say "Hide all paths and levels as if game has already started".

eh that's not exactly what I meant to say; scroll down for a more detailed picture of what's happening

Windows 8.1.
So um, let me see here, how do I show you this... OH I KNOW.
Haha, taking pictures of computer screens as though I never knew what the print screen button did! FTW! But yeah, that's what the cursor is doing to me and I don't like it, especially when I need to see the bottom right corner of it. :(

Ooh cool, thanks.

Cursor is: , but with than reverser BGO it looks like .... (look into spoiler)
The middle of cross - is a center of item, usually placing is relative to CENTER of item. In early alpha-builts was relative to left-top corner, but "relative to center" will give ability put items even with touch screens. So, you can customize the cursor with editing of themes and [Tools -> Application settings -> View] will give you able to change theme. "Default" theme means than will be used default theme which typed in main.ini file of current config pack.

Also, don't forget about theme.ini where you can define hot spot (point on the picture which a physical position of cursor)

I mean, I can tell that the reticule is aiming for the middle of my background object, but the thing is that it's a line platform reverser. It's a special BGO that if ANY of it is touched by a line-guided platform's middle (even the slightest 1x1 pixel on its edges) it will instantly change direction. The thing is, half of the "square" angles don't actually work because there's been an unstated rule all this time.
Code: Select all When a platform touches a new line while it's >>airborne<<, it's either going to go up or to the right. This only applies to extremely small velocities.
So, have an example:
In this instance, ignore the line reverser BGO.
Let's say that from the top horizontal line, our platform is approaching and it's moving left. What will it do without the blue thingy? It's going to fall off the line going left, and then it will try to attach itself to the vertical line. However, since it's going to move upwards when it touches a new line, it goes up and "bounces" into the air. It then detects the horizontal line once more, and because it will always move right when it detects a new horizontal line, it goes right.
Basically, in the end, when it tries to go down the vertical line, it can't and it goes back from where it came.
Keep in mind this all happens in under a millisecond.
However, using the platform reverser BGOs, we can change that!
I don't actually know the science behind its hitboxes yet, but you have to give the platform at least a few 1x1 pixels' room to "breathe." In this case, when it tries to "bounce" back up off of the vertical line, it's going to detect the line reverser BGO and hit it. Because they always reverse movement now matter how large or small a drop or fall is, it's going to move BACK DOWN and go the way I wanted it to go! Yay!
Now, the reason why my cursor is a problem is because I can't actually see where the two lines meet at the corner. How do I fix or remove that problematic icon attached to my cursor?

I have multiple solutions:
- You can try to switch theme into the "Internal" where this cursor will have a simple cross shape without any additional images
- You can try to zoom in (Alt+MousewheelForward) to take ability put items more accurate
