The first screenshot doesn't have npc's cause your player gets blasted into the level at the intro.

No. That area is where you are after the "Palace of the Earth Spirits" in Touhou 11 ~ Subterranean Animism. It's a graveyard of firery blazing hell. I already made the Extra Stage on Touhou 11 so far and that wasn't in order aswell. For some reason, I earn ideas out of thin air during School and one of those ideas was that. A firery inbetween Lava with dark atmosphere and other neat stuff. I can not wait to speed run the next beta of the episode you release, but still! This looks harder then "Embodiment of Scarlet Devil Extra! In fact, it is one of the easiest ones I have outside of Easy, and and a few normal levels! Still on the slow Progression because of School in it's entirely and other stuff to handle. I am trying my best though. I am not that good with spriting characters so I doupt I am be able to make them. That looks very awesome. Very great design you got there.

Well, the Volcano Lotuses are already in the level, I suppose a regular enemy would work. Koopas may not work so well with the level layout as there is way too many places where shells can get stuck and ricochet, so I think Goombas might be the better alternative here.
