Seriously everybody..just shut up already. Tired of being able to check this every 3 minutes to see the same 4 people talking about something so damn useless and non-influential as the episode's title. Just sit in ya chair, twiddle ya thumbs, and shush. Seriously getting annoyed with this being the 11th contest with the same people doing the same crap over and over.

OK, I understand. But I'm new at this contests and I never produced a level to this forums before. I don't know I can get low or high score. Just please stop insulting. I'll wait.

If you were serious and really tried, you'll get a fair score and you'll get tier 2 and maybe tier 3. (which is pretty good for newbie designers) Tier 1 is usually joke levels, tier 2 is the first one with serious levels. (usually newcomers are there)

Not always. Don't make this stereotype about newcomers, because sometimes it isn't true, and can be insulting. In CC8, Frozen Rex, a newcomer, made it really high up the tiers. You can still encounter a serious level in Tier 1 though, albeit deliberately designed badly.

He means newcomers who are not experienced with SMBX yet.

How is that insulting.
Also you don't know but maybe Frozen Rex used smbx way before he joined the forum.

I was in CC8 and a n00b and made it to 18th place.
Never generalize.

Well I am pretty experienced and I never give it my all. If I did, I could make it to Top 10 at least. But whats the fun if the veterans steal the spotlight. Afterall, I am perfectly content with just providing new ideas to use in levels.

I'm usually pretty competitive. I come up with gimmicks and utilize them. I tend to use more than 1 gimmick in a level. In each section, I like to change it up. Seeing 1 thing in a level for each section does get pretty repetitive. It's nice to change things up a bit in the middle of gameplay to keep the player interested.

Making a genuinely good level would be way too exhausting. Too lazy! I often only present SDG's gimmicky levels to show off a new idea (cough- Futuristic fortress, Factory Inspection, and my magma level from the last contest) And this contest is no different. Hell, I imagine some judges already spotted my level...since it stands out among the rest

Futuristic Fortress is in SDG?

Same. I always want to come up with a new gimmick as well, and feature it in the level, preferably one that has never been seen yet, or is hard to find.

Originally, yes. But since it takes half a god damn hour to beat...ill probably keep it as a secret level

I find the easiest way to combat that is to have the level gradually teach you how to beat the later half of the level. That way it isn't so much as repeating yourself, but building up the suspense and action.

Just like all the other levels who will end up in top 25.

Sir, did you know the level you submit doesn't impact a newcomer's performance in a contest in the slightest? Also, I think our definitions of a
contest diverge a little bit.

Don't call me sir like I am some scrub to this topic. And I never once said a newcomer submitting a level affects their performance; quite frankly I dont care who has more experience. So long as people actually put their all into providing new ideas or actually making good, im fine. But jokes/troll levels are a waste of time to design and submit, hence my constant irritation.
