i don't think the background would fit, and that horrible cutoff...
anyway, level seems good so far and clearly resembles jolly roger bay, i like it, but i think you need to make the top section wider. it's too short.
do u know what Work In Progress means
well, at least you know what to do now.

It reminds me vaguely of Jolly Roger Bay.

maybe your screenshot isn't interesting?
(but seriously, what you've shown is just a generic sky level, except in smb2 style. try doing something in the level that makes it unique)

Really?
I mean, most likely that is because your screens are either smothered by other screens that catch more attention or because your screens just aren't interested. I used to (and still sometimes have) that problem too. But please, stop whining about lack of attention, it isnt fun at all.

Yay 100th post
Here's a level I made for my first ever (scrapped) episode. I kind of like it, and might want to use it in another future episode.

Looks good, especially the red colour on the background, it makes it seem like the level is really hot. However, I think it might look a little bit better if those lantern things were spaced out a bit more. Also, what's the gap in the ceiling for?

Wouldn't it be better if there was a hidden vine or something so you don't have to have a leaf or tanooki suit going into the stage and have to build up momentum on a somewhat short surface? Unless there's like a 3-up moon up there or something.

That looks pretty good, what's it for? Also, some of the powerup silhouettes (Like the top right star one) can't normally be seen when actually playing the level, so I'd recommend you placed them closer to the room.
Edit: This is what you do when you're really fucking bored:

That looks pretty neat, there are however a few weird things going on there. First and formost, why are the bill blasters placed in such an erratic way? All of the groups of blasters aside from the single blaster next to the fifth pipe and the second to last set of blasters are placed with a 1-block gap inbetween them. That gap doesn't really serve any purpose aesthetical or practical and just creates alot of annoyance to players because there is a big possibility they fall into the gaps. Instead I would recommend placing the blasters next to each other (without any space between them) and possibly arrange them in a more ordened way (as blasters are placed there synthetically after all). Also, Is that a full level? im pretty sure that only takes around 2 minutes to beat and there really is no purpose to a checkpoint there.

As I said, it was for my first ever episode, so I made this level ages ago. In fact, I had only just started using custom graphics (All this I just recoloued using an SMB3 orange sizable block), and had just got paint.net.
Thinking about it, I think quite a few of the levels I make are fairly short (And at the lower end of the difficulty spectrum, as I'm not that good at SMBX), but to answer your questions, I just don't really know why I decided to leave a gap between the bullet bill blasters. And yes, it is a full level. I don't know how long it took me to beat, but It was probably a bit longer than what you or someone else would be able to complete it in. Plus, because of my lower skill level, I did actually need the checkpoint, and it's also probably why I put 3 tanooki suits in the level, even though using a leaf would have been fine.
EDIT: Actually, I couldn't have used a leaf because you can't tell the difference between the leaf you just got from the block and one of the many leaves floating down from the trees above. (If you haven't noticed from the screenshot, the leaves are set to friendly so that they float down from the trees, like falling leaves in autumn.)

This is like saying you should remove pits from your level because the player might fall in. It's an obstacle, it's meant to cause inconvenience.

Except the player can not properly die from it, making it less dangerous and more of a nuisance. If there would have been munchers or spikes there it wouln't have been an issue.
