However I cannot battle the War Magikoopa, I have an error 13 type mismatch...
Try using the 1.3 or the 13.01 version of SMBX, it may remove most of the bugs/crashs, if this do not work, try downloading the Episode again.

Even in the 13.01 some crashs may occur, but just reopen the game and done.

It's strange... Which operational system (win7, win8, win10) are you using?

The system your PC/Laptop runs on. For example, Windows 7 is a common operational system.

I've never heard of it called that though. Me and every single person I know calls it an operating system. Maybe it's a US term?

I'm just using the word operational because he used it. It's not a regional dialect. It's actually one of the 3 usages of the word. Operated is past tense, operating is present tense and I'm pretty sure in certain uses operational is future tense.

It's absolutely weird that you claim it to work in 1.4, when it's clearly made for 1.3 and we clearly know that 1.3 and 1.4 are not compatible with eachother. Can you please specify what doesn't work? I wouldn't assume that it has anything to do with your OS.

I've got Windows 10 and SMBX works 100% fine for me, although I haven't tested this episode. I think I might have encountered this error before, but I can't remember where or what I did, sorry.

Also, as Cedur said, what on earth would it have to do with a operating system? All levels are compatible with all operating systems.
