Bump
Whenever I play some episodes on SMBX 2.0, I use these controls with my M30 Bluetooth Gamepad *:
- Secondary Run/Attack: Button A
- Spin Jump/Secondary Jump: Button Z
- Drop saved-up power-up: Button X
*If y'all don't know, it's a Bluetooth version of the 6 button Genesis/Mega Drive controller created by 8bitdo
**Just like many platforming games.

I use an Xbox One controller (because my keyboard is trash)
Left: Left on D pad
Right: Right on D pad
Up: Up on D pad
Down: Down on D pad
Jump: A
Alt Jump: B
Run: X
Alt Run: Y
Pause: The button with the 3 lines (start)
Drop Item: The button with the 2 squares (select)
Basically the same as SMW.

Jump: Γ
Alt Jump: P
Drop Item: Left shift
Pause: Enter
Player 2:
Move: W, A, S, D
Run: Z
Alt Run: C
Jump: X
Alt Jump: V

Yeah I use the default controls as well. I don't think I changed anything from mine.

Normally, if you changed the control in the main game, it also changes the editor during testing.

Not if you have a different keyboard. German keyboard swaps Y and Z so if you have an English keyboard, imagine pressing Y to jump.
Also on SM63, the Up arrow is the jump button, which is why I swapped Up and Jump.
Also if I'm being honest, I never got why people like WASD for moving (as in, why some games even work that way), it essentially forces you to use your left hand for it?

I have mine setup so that my friends play with me without cramping up the keyboard space, but I normally use controller anyways.
Player 1
Move - Arrow Keys
Numpad 6 - Jump
Numpad 4 - Run
Numpad 8 - Alt. Jump
Numpad 5 - Alt. Run
Numpad 9 - Drop Item
Player 2
Move - WASD
J - Jump
G - Run
Y - Alt. Jump
H - Alt. Run
(I forgot what I put for drop item lol)
For controllers though, I always have B to run and A to jump when I'm using my Switch Pro Controller.

Is it okay with y'all SMBX members if I change up my control set-up, since I'm now using a USB Retro-Bit 8 Button Sega Genesis gamepad to play SMBX2.0 & 1.4.x?
- Jump: C button (Controller Key 04)
- Run/Attack: B button (Controller Key 00)
- Alt Jump: A button (Controller Key 01)
- Alt Run/Attack: R shoulder button (Controller Key 18)
- Pause: Start button (Controller Key 07)
- Drop Item: Mode button (Controller Key 06)
Just so I can have easy access to running/attack imo
