Super Mario timeline (ATTENTION MARIO EXPERTS!)

I know that this is a nine-month bump, but Paper Mario: Color Splash has been added to the timeline! Also, I've done some major changes to existing game placements, shuffling them around and that (for example, Donkey Konga has been moved up to take place shortly after Tropical Freeze, as part of DK's birthday celebrations). As well as this, the Mario vs. DK series has been shifted all the way to near the start of the timeline (taking place around the time of the original SMB and SM3DL), before Donkey Kong Country happens. I've broken Mario Sports Mix and Mario Hoops 3-on-3 off the other sports games, and put them separately so to accommodate for the Final Fantasy characters.

If there are any mistakes or nothing makes sense, let me know.

I deliberately didn't include them because they're basically retools of the original games they derive from, and so there's nothing different to sway it towards being a new game entirely. And before you ask, the reason I included Super Mario 64 DS is because it's got loads of radical changes compared to the original to the point it could be considered more of a new game than a remake, yet it still ties to the original.

It's been a while, but I've been working on some major timeline updates. Luigi's Mansion 3, Super Mario Odyssey and Paper Mario: The Origami King have been added to the timeline, as well as a bunch of G&W games.

Well I mean, this isn't really supposed to be an official timeline of sorts (there's no official Mario timeline as there is). This is just a passion project of mine where the aim is to sort the Mario games into some kind of chronology. When making the timeline I didn't really know about the whole PM multiverse stuff, but it'll just complicate matters further.

How I see it, the events of the games took place at these certain points in the timeline, and the events were catalogued into paper format and stored in the attic of Peach's castle, which is what happens when Paper Jam takes place.

I was kind of thinking that the Paper Mario series was set in a parallel universe, but yeah, your idea doesn't sound as complicated
