on the 3ds menu hit the orange smile face that says "friends online" or ur friend list
Next,if u haven't gotten through the tutorials, view your Mii's profile and it will show you your friend code
(Green light= streetpass(someone with a 3ds "tagged" you within 30 ft(radius for wireless interaction)
Blue light= spotpass (something new is availble)
orange light= friend list (someone is "online" or is currently playing on their 3ds)))
