I'm early this time, but...
M16 Action Logs
M16 Game Logs
Taycamgame, The Agent
- Was contributive in general to his team when it came to planning how to deceive the town, putting his ability to good use, etc.
- Fakeclaiming Sheriff contact was a good move given your ability.
- Did however get outplayed by TTK’s townsperson act.
- Pulling a M40 was risky and didn’t really pay off, however, wasn’t really a bad play to go for either.
- Eventually crossed paths with TTK’s targets, got silenced, and ultimately lynched, unfortunately for his team.
Kanye, The Fabricator
- Contributed quite a bit to his team where it counted and came up with pretty logical kill targets such as suggesting swiss where he did as well as going for Drifloon towards the end.
Ch1lly, the Illusionist
- While he did help his team out, I didn’t really seem him come up with too many of his own plans for the most part.
And when he was being voted off as well, the things he had said really didn’t convince the town to not do so either.
- He did however manage to trick the town into believing that he wasn’t mafia aligned, which likely set the town off guard in regards to how many mafia were left remaining.
Swiss, The Inspector
- Along with not using their ability a single time, a poor move given how important they’re ability was to a game like this, also barely contributed at all.
And while he wanted to sub out, it was a bit too late at that point as the TP killed him. For this very reason in fact.
Drifloon, The Merchant
- Was generally active when playing, his targets made sense, and in general made an effort to try to figure out the ins and outs of the game the best he could.
- Almost saved the game by figuring out Kanye towards the end, getting the town out of the lose-lose situation they would have inevitably been thrown into.
Mechdragon, The Dissector
- Died night 1 to rng unfortunately.
- This sucks especially given the fact that his role was easily the most important role in the game on not just the town side, but even on the mafia and TP side as well in figuring out a general idea on what the role list is, but given he was targeted, this wasn’t able to happen.
Inferno, A Freemason
- While his intentions were good in helping the town where he could, he made the decision of using his gun right when he recieved it and shot the miller.
And not only shot the miller, but assumed with %100 certainity there were mafia, not considering the possibility at all that for one, they could have been the miller, and second, that his gun could have been fake as well.
- And when he had first claimed mason after his teammate had died, he got a bit too heated about it, which hurt his credibility quite a bit as well.
- He did however have slight suspicion on ttk, which was good in that regard as most other people didn’t, but yeah.
- Overall wasn’t awful, but there’s a lot of places to improve.
Sastar, A Freemason
- Overall his plays when he was alive made sense, he was active in both the mason chat and main town chat, and didn’t really make any awful plays. Was unfortunately a target of meta...like he tends to be a lot...
Cyro, A Townsperson
- For a new player to the game, he played pretty well, being active, being engaged in discussions, helping in role speculations when they came along, and was going to be helpful in regards to the alliance, sucks that TTK saw this and went for him in the end though.
Saltlord, A Townsperson
- With the information that he had to work with, he in general played fine. Analyzing how people behaved in the game, not throwing complete trust into anyone, and in general playing in a way one would expect a role like townsperson to play who doesn’t have alot to go off.
- Even at the end of the game, his vote on LGL made perfect sense given the context of everything that had happened up to that point, he just got outplayed.
Fyrenova, A Townsperson
- In general, like Saltlord, he contributed to the town where he could and generally made plays off of what made sense for the context.
He was even one of the few that suspected TTK, but unfortunately his targeting in the semi-final phase stopped him from acting on this.
Uranus, A Townsperson
- Died night 1, not a whole lot that i’m able to say on how they played.
Oshi, The Troublemaker
-While alive, really didn’t do too much at all to contribute to the town, and eventually was unfortunately shot on suspicion by inferno, and worse, everyone had the impression that he was actually mafia, when he had been the miller the whole time.
LGL, The Mystery Man
-Was notoriously inactive for the vast majority of the game, and as a result, didn’t contribute.
-And when the end of the game was closing in, made a lot of comments that looked highly suspicious and dug them deeper.
Dodging a lot of the questions that were asked to him by the remaining townspeople also hadn’t helped either.
TTK, The Basilisk
-In general, he played a more or less perfect game.
-When it came to being trustworthy to the town, he never really did anything that was out of the ordinary and in general went along with things in a way that a townsperson would be expected to.
-Getting inspected night 1 thanks to how green inspections worked also really helped him out in this regard, as if it weren’t for this, perhaps things would not have ended up working out as well for him as they did.
-Killed the correct people at the correct times, keeping Taycam alive when he realized he was a suspect was one of those correct moves, and killing Fyrenova late game also is basically the thing that saved the game for him given how he was one of the few people that actually suspected him.
Him killing Cyro when he realized Taycam would inspect him also really helped out as this meant Taycam was unable to speak on the phase he was lynched in.
-Towards the game’s end, he made the right moves with not rushing towards the final lynch, given this is something a scum would do. Especially helped in that though he was in a win-win situation at that point, he went through with it either why.
Best Plays Of The Game
Each Team Overall
Mafia Overall
In general, the team worked with the roles that they had and planned around it quite well. Taycam faking a sheriff claim was a really good move as had already been previously stated above, and Kanye’s targets to give falsified items also were pretty well chosen too. It even got an extra townie killed for them given the target he chose. Ch1lly specifically did have ways in which he could have used his alternatively flipping colors better, but overall the mafia played a pretty solid game.
Town Overall
While no one in the town really excelled in their playing, only a small handful of them really played poorly at all. Losing both of their information gathering roles really early on was a massive blow to them as that was the only way anyone in the town would have really been capable of getting some kind of a grasp on just what it was that was going on in this game given the lack of knowledge on player’s roles. Even lacking this information however, most of the town’s actions had made sense, and perhaps if the TP hadn’t been so witty, they would have even pulled off a win.
Third Party Overall
As has already been said before, the TP practically played a perfect game, their green inspection came in clutch for them and set them up pretty well for what had been left for the game. They stayed out of suspicion very well, keeping a very low profile and not being seen as much of a threat to anyone. And while there had been people who had suspected them, most of them had not gotten the chance to act on it, good for them. And in the end, this was just enough for them to win the unlikely victory that is typical of playing a third party role.
My Personal Thoughts
For what it is that this game intended structuring wise, being that the town, mafia, and tp alike is meant to figure out just what is going on in the game from the information that could be gathered, from things like the game’s mechanics, things we knew were in the game, and the like, I feel that it went pretty well in regards to that being the intention.
However, the game also had several large problems that really set it back. The first one being the one practically everyone, myself included has brought up up to this point. Being that there was way too many new, previously unintroduced roles for a game like this. Given how in mystery games you don’t know what any of the game’s roles are other than your own, forcing the players to more or less guess on a lot of them, something that’s ideal to do is to mainly include roles the players are familiar with. Something that this game didn’t do. There was a grand total of seven new roles introduced in this game, far too many for when the rolelist wasn’t know either.
This especially wasn’t helped by the fact that perhaps the most important roles to the town’s success, the Dissector and The Inspector(Learns colors and items of targets) one was randomly targeted the first night; while the later was notoriously inactive, and died for it. Leaving the town with next to nothing to go off of in regards to figuring the game out.
Perhaps if for one, less new roles were used, the masons had been green rather than a unique color, or this game was played during the Minigame Plaza / SMBX era, it would have worked out alot better from a design perspective given the extra familiarity with roles in this game those places had and the like.
Or perhaps if not that, given players a bit more information, like for example, a role inspecting sheriff, or a backup dissector perhaps.
In general, this game went pretty well in regards to what it set out to do I feel, but it had several large design flaws that held it back from being of higher quality than it could have been.
