Yes. I still remember Supermarioman. I still have his graphics pack, and his automatic level contest folder with all the entries.

About SORA: I don't know what SORA even stands for. I only saw its abbreviation several times before I left the Knux forums. :/

I'm still not clear on why you hated those forums so much that their existence, while not even affecting yours, would upset you.

I think SORA meant Stop Online Retardedness Act or something, I don't remember exactly but that sounds right at the same time

Nowhere did I say I hated anything. Cloud's forum's existence was unrelated, yeah, but NSMBX's wasn't. It was just an unnecessary division in the community, and now that it's gone we can move forward as one community.

Yeah, NSMBX became an unnecessary clone of the Knuxforums after NSMBX (the game) died. They were really extremely similar to one another and had a very shared userbase. NSMBX may have had better administration but Chad and reghrhre were also admins on Knux's so the differences were pretty tiny.

You did previously say that those forums, and I quote, "suck ass", and you had enough of a vendetta about it to post those very words on NSMBX.

And the only REAL problem with there being divisions was when people like you would do things like that.

...what? No, divisions are bad because they separate the community when it has no inherent reason to be separated. Also, I must've said that a while ago.

You did say it a while ago. I brought it up to explain why I would believe you hated or at least had some kind of thing against NSMBX, but it worked as an example of my other point as well.

I just always felt like the sense of urgency of certain users was far exaggerated against the actual importance of the subject of merging. I don't really intend to ascribe all or any of that to yourself, but the flame wars were ridiculous nonetheless. It seemed to me that the far bigger problem was people in general stirring up drama just because a similar forum existed that they weren't forced to visit. I can also attest that the forums were different enough for me that I felt more comfortable in NSMBX than at Knux's forum, despite that I voted in favour of at least trying to make the merge work. To be fair, a lot of people seemed to ignore the stipulation that NSMBX would have reopened if the merge didn't work, and I guess that must have been frustrating.

I believe that there may not be an inherent reason but there are, indeed, reasons to be separated in particular instances, some that we might have discovered if NSMBX had been actually merged into Knux's Forum (however temporary that might have been).

I say all this knowing that the SMBX community will never really be completely united in one forum. Knux's Forum stays open, and you might have noticed Cloud's actually does as well. It just seems that, given human nature, the objective of moving forward as "one" cannot really be achieved.

The first merge was a bad idea because it was guaranteed to fail terribly. Knux would have taken action against the staff of NSMBX, prompting everyone to argue again.

Yes, I admit SORA was the darkest time this community has ever had. SORA was the total opposite of what I wanted it to be. I take blame for everything that happened during SORA. I don't think the second merge was bad, though. I'll explain the reasoning behind the second merge:

We wanted to unify the community and Knux was an impediment. I wanted to exclude him from the second merge to avoid possible risks and needless drama. It didn't go as planned though, because Knux suddenly changed his mind about the merge and I allegedly ruined my reputation by arguing in favor of SMBX:R's existence. While SMBX:R was loathed by certain users at Knux's Forum, it did garner a lot of popularity and I think it was beneficial overall.

SMBX:R was easily the most peaceful forum in my opinion. I had a lot of fun working with wonderful people like reghrhre, Chad and BlueOak, but it was too stressful so I quit the forum.

Regarding Joey, I really disliked him because of what he said during the second merge. It was hurtful that some people were so critical of the merge and their reason was basically 'nuh-uh'. It was something personal but I got over it when I read Joey's thread about a future merge.

@Magician, this is the only SMBX community and it's united as it is now.

I remember when I specifically censored 'MegaSpark' because your spelling was annoying the shit out of me.
Oh, the days!

Yeah, the part about the SMBX community not being unified isn't true. Cloud's Forums (which were never a part of the community anyway) tanked a while ago, and anyone who still hangs around Knux's forum is just lingering around (probably for TAOK).

While I'm sure some people enjoyed it, SMBXR was the most distant forum from the general community because of its userbase (because half of them came from Cloud's forum) and board software.

The way I see it, Joey was going to demote both of us anyway. Raster and Gary have both claimed he said on IRC once he'd demote me in a heartbeat anyway
I think that was his response to me saying he was 'Knux's puppet' back when he was promoted.

@Raster: It's difficult to say that this is the only SMBX forum; Knux's still exists though with a somewhat crippled userbase and Valtteri's also exists but that one was never very big to begin with.

Honestly though, this is probably the most united we've ever been since the original forums. Joey may not be perfect, but he did a hell of a job bringing us back together. Thanks, Joey.
