I'm pretty sure I was stuck somewhere around World 13 or the like. My stats say I ended at 101 stars. How far have you even advanced?

Honestly someone should just go ahead and revamp this episode from all the bugs and crappy enemy spam and eyesore graphics. Then it would be great. However this task would be about as demanding as making an episode of your own

Alright so I patched a part of the world map in this episode and apparently the entire world map broke right after that. Tiles randomly started dissappearing and random paths in future worlds opened up. My only theory is that there's so much stuff on the world map that somehow everything overflowed or some weird thing and caused everything to stop working properly.

oh, no, this is actually a common error in smbx. if you have a save file in an episode and then you edit its world map, you end up with paths disappearing. the only thing you can now is either restore the previous world map or start a new save file.
