For starters, I find it quite funny that Mario vs the Moon Base has a storyline that parallels Super Mario Odyssey's storyline (Bowser takes Peach to the Moon) 6 years before Mario Odyssey was released.
My main criticism with the episode is that the title can be misleading. If someone was hearing about this episode for the first time, they might assume that the entirety of the episode takes place on the Moon. However, you don't get to the Moon until the final world!
Other than that, the episode is decently fun to play.
I nominate Mario Prime.

Totally overlooked classic. I actually was in contact with the developers about a reissue but I forgot my RPG-maker password oop

Mario vs the Moon Base, aaah, so old, the episode had its issues but it was completely enjoyable, however, I had a lot of problems because at the endgame I found several enemies with decimal speed, that forced me to use 'donthurtme' because I couldn't stand the decimal speed enemies

This happened to me on moon levels also.
Especially the koopas and fire enemies.
I quit because the game started crashing because of npc overflow on the tank level.

I just removed every npc that causes the overflow, and ended abusing if cheats because I wanted to complete the episode

I commend this episode for its unique Metroidvania-style gameplay, enabled by the use of "save points" that take you to the worldmap. It makes me wish for more episodes that utilise this mechanic! The whole episode looks and feels very polished, which was helped by its memorable plot.
This episode also holds a lot of potential for speedrunners, due to its more "open-ended" nature. I had a lot of fun exploring all the locations in this episode, but I found it to be quite difficult at times. If you're going to 100% this episode, I recommend you use the map that Nonlen17 created.
I nominate Return to Dinosaur Land

I will admit that beta-testing this episode was a blast, that is to say for sure.

If i could blindly tell y'all My opinion on Mario Prime,
I can tell the creator played a lot of Metroidvania games to get inspiration for this episode.

The great thing about this episode is that it really feels like an expansion of Super Mario World. The changed sound effects in the SMBX 2.0 version of this episode are also a nice touch. However, I feel like difficulty was a bit excessive in a few levels.
Now that I've discussed a SMW throwback episode, I want to discuss a SMB3 throwback episode, so I nominate SMB3X. Here's the link to its RMN page: https://rpgmaker.net/games/4437/

I actual thought "Return to Dinosaur Island" was a SMBX sequel to SMW
