did you intend to write "cheap difficulty at many points in the game"?

Play the lost levels in SMB Deluxe, and you'll know why

My least favourite is definitely SMB3 due to its forgettable levels, focus on quantity over quality, ungodly long worlds, bland and generic artstyle (especially on nes) and music. It was a complete slog to play. Objectively speaking it's at least better than SMB1, but this is a topic about personal biases so yeah..
I have a lot harder of a time deciding on a favourite, because all good mario games are a similar level of decent. Probably the first Galaxy I suppose.
SMB3 is a great game and all, I don't have any complain about the music or how long the worlds are (I always loved long Mario games)
My complain with SMB3 is that sometimes levels can be a bit... bland, I mean, do you remember World 5 mini fortress? that fortress just had gray dungeon blocks around the screen, or these levels where your only way to go up is with blue dungeon blocks around the level, blocks that by the way doesn't fit with several levels
I always had a problem with SMB3 level design since I was a kid, like some levels looked ugly and some things looke out of place and things like that

Better yet, play the original, the deluxe version has saving but requires 30000 points to unlock ( If you are even good at Super Mario Bros. ( without savestates ), has a lack of the wind feature, lack of the extra worlds, and several other features to just fit the GBC.
I only recommend it to play if you want to practice beating it or for competitionist's route, whatever suits your boat.

Any game where Mario is the main character (including Yoshi's Island and Mario Is Missing) (Mario Party, Mario Kart, Mario Sports Games and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games)
Best: Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario Maker
Worst: Super Mario Run
Yoshi's island and MKWii

BUMP!
I like to add Super Mario World to my favorites, because i love how the game has multiple paths in some of the worlds *
*A perfect example to prove my point, I have way too much trouble in Vanilla Dome's Lemmy's Castle, so thank god you can skip it if you complete the "Optional" Vanilla Fortress! ^^"

You're talking about the Mario Party/Kart/Sports games, right?

Least favourite: Super Mario World (Yes, I'm probably offending some Mario fan)

Why would you hate Super Mario World? It's a classical masterpiece of the 16-bit era to many gamers

Alright, I definitely need an explanation for that one.

It's a nice game, I know, but I enjoyed it less than other games of the franchise.
