I did add the cheep-cheeps and coral spikes though (I'm thinking on adding some challenges based on dodging bloopers and cheep-cheeps while avoiding spikes later on in the level). Dunno if that's enough to make it stand out, but I wasn't really sure what else to add, since 2-2 is a pretty basic stage.

alright, not to sound arrogant but adding a few enemies is really just as good as adding nothing, I'll give you an example from my level:
This setup in the original level:
I turned into this:

If you're just adding enemies which are pretty inconsequential, then try to re-think some parts of the level or something. This is a change in the structure of the level itself, while also keeping the original part there, it feels different while also including a part that's the same.

Indeed Snessy. I've gotta agree with Sanct on this one. This episode (to my knowledge) is supposed to be a reimagination of SMB1. So bascially, keeping the core elements and expanding upon them while still resembling the original.
My change isn't as drastic and astonishing as Sanct's (I consider that expansion quite neat) but I'd say that my level is quite different from the original while it still has some resemblances to it.

Oh well, looks like I should probably restart my level. I was playing it somewhat safe, since I thought the level had to be relatively close to the original (As in no major deviations from the original level design) which I think was what the original SMB1X was going for.

So my level which you saw on the last page is well... hard to expand upon, its 1-1! What do I add? Idk many gimmicks that would fit in that level so I’m asking for ideas... got any?

You could try using moving sizables, like in NSMBU's 1-1.
Or, Idk, a power-up gimmick?

My first attempt was bad, so I am starting a new one. I don't think they will be

No, but should levels miss the mark in terms of quality, Aristo works with you to (hopefully) make the level good enough to be featured in the episode.

Me too. Working on my 2nd attempt; Level was too easy and graphics had cuttoffs.

All of these reimagined levels are amazing. I especially like ShadowStarX's dreamlike take, and Sanct's work takes me back to the old days. Well done, everyone.

Then why don't you make a minus world with non-identical levels? Would mind it 'cos it can be more awesome with that -1 Worldie
