I love you for this.PixelPest wrote: I've made both. The power-up system is on Beta 3 and the flutter jump should be in Beta 4
But we can't have our cake & eat it!
Small Goombas are Micro Goombas.Tyler1209 wrote:There are some bosses + enemies that I personally would like to see implemented:
Bosses:
-Fryguy (smb2 USA)
-Winged Boom-Boom (smb3)
-Renzor (smw)
-Smw Bowser
Enemies:
-Fire Lakitu (smw)
-Flame Chomp (I know it's in 1.4.4 but I want it in 2.0) (nsmbw)
-Kirby Enemies (over asked I know)
-Those small Goombas that get onto you and slow you down (aka small Goombas)
That's about it for now.
Why can't 2.0 have extra powerups?MarioRPGExpert93 wrote:I wanted SMBX to have both these features:
- Extra Characters (SMBX 2.0)
- Extra Power-ups (SMBX 1.4.4)

That's not the issue. The issue is mainly that we can only sort of hack together the powerups, as there are only 7 powerups slots and all of them are in use already. Eventually we will get the ability to expand the powerup slots, but even then we're no going to be adding hundreds of new powerups, since each powerup added means new sprites for all the characters and all the costumes - one of the main reasons we're not planning to add more characters right now.Mr Briney wrote:Iirc, they can't make yet a power-up remain when the level was exited. Cross-level may be the term, I forgot.
I mean it's the a major symptom of the issue, since it's only a small hack to do something like this, but to get it to go across levels without a proper expansion of the powerup slots would require some major bodging with the Data class or some other filesystem tech.Hoeloe wrote:That's not the issue. OOOOOR you know, the new save system I'm working on that will allow you to carry data between levels. That would do it too.The0x539 wrote:but to get it to go across levels without a proper expansion of the powerup slots would require some major bodging with the Data class or some other filesystem tech.

That's literally what SMBX2 is doing. There will also be a list of a large number of dummy NPCs reserved for level and episode customization in SMBX2arcade999 wrote:That you could add directly to the editor fancy custom npc's or blocks wich wouldn't replace the actual ones. I know it would be really improbable, but damn it would be cool!
Wrong. Prototypes exist for all three of those, but neither PixelPest, creator of the prototypes for the first two, nor I, creator of the prototype for the third, said they would be in Beta 4. They could, but bet against it. There's some tech we need before we can add them, and that's on top of the prototypes not even being otherwise finished. Other tech, such as better NPC/block classes, block/BGO array expansions, and per-player hitbox stuff, is also considered more important than a powerup array expansion.TheKidCodee wrote:2.0 Said that they'll have the propeller suit and the blue shell in beta 4.Snessy the duck wrote:Why can't 2.0 have extra powerups?MarioRPGExpert93 wrote:I wanted SMBX to have both these features:

They also said they'll have cape flight? (Probably the cape feather)
