You can stop the constant unnecessary double/triple/quadruple posting. Also, stop typing in all caps because it's really obnoxious.TheYoshiMaster wrote:HELLO EVERYONE, IF YOU WANT THIS GAME TO NOT BE DELAYED, PLEASE REPLY TO THIS BOARD IF YOU THINK YOU CAN FIX MY PROBLEM viewtopic.php?f=35&t=20093
If you're gonna say this, then you should at least elaborate on why it's bad and what OP can do to make it better.CoinKillerL wrote:the level design is... really, really bad
I disagree. With some yes, but overall the levels look very cluttered if you watch the gameplay videos, do to an excess of BGOs. Coins shouldn't be used just to make things not bland, they should be used to guide the player and maybe challenge then on certain paths.Electriking wrote:You should probably make your levels less bland by adding BGOs and maybe a few more coins in some of the screens.
I only watched some of it but it looks very cramped at times and there are way too many BGOs, making it quite hard to look at sometimes and overall looks kinda messy. There doesn't seem to be much variation and a lot of it is very rompy. The boss fights were also very simple and overall there doesn't seem to be much care for aesthetics. Secret stars seemed to be placed unintuitively; most of them were in pipes and there were very few pipes anyway. You also have some warps incorrectly placed (horizontal warps should be against the bottom of the pipe, not in the middle). It just doesn't look fun to playTheYoshiMaster wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkBnocjx5Tk Here it is, the world 1 gameplay. In between dead memes and really bad clickbait, it's finally here.
Calm down. I've only released screenshots and a video of the first world and one screenshot of World 2. Still, thanks for the criticism.CoinKillerL wrote:Backgrounds,Bgos and other estethic things are extremely out of place.
level design looks rushed, unenspired and bland.
instead of making lots of bad level, make less levels but GOOD
Thank you for your criticism. I'll try to take you and CoinKiller's advice.PixelPest wrote:I disagree. What level are you talking about? Do you mean Goomba Gate? Whatever level it is, I'll gladly fix it and see if I can fix the other levels in world 1 and maybe world 2 with everyone's advice in mind.Westretroman wrote:I like the beginning of your levels as they build up to some excitement, but then when it gets to the part with the badly design sections, it loses momentum. Take Goomba Hills for a example, it starts off building some excitement then changing that excitement to confusion with the cluttered paths and BGOs. Hope we can see whatever you make next.
Sure, I'll give you the new beta sometime today.Wellington Games wrote:Do you need one more Beta Tester?
There done. Also, check your private messages.Electriking wrote:You should probably make your levels less bland by adding BGOs and maybe a few more coins in some of the screens.
BTW, I think you should update my username for the map designer as well.
