Look at this and you'll see that it's not "arbitrary and useless". Besides, how often are you disturbed by the score display when playing "normal" episodes? Barely ever, so I don't see any practical purpose on removing the score.

I know I'm late to responding, but I've been busy. There's so many replies to my stuff, that I can't possibly respond to it all without taking like half of the page up. So here's my generalized response/thoughts:

I will be sticking to 1.3.0.1 with the addition of Lua. That means I will not be able to play 2k16 December Collapse, but ah, such is life. It's a shame, too, because Enjl's YT video thumbnails about this episode looked cool. The only reason I even got this whole thing started was that I thought I could play December Collapse without 2.0, since Enjl said I needed 2.0 to play Hypnosis Redo in this topic (But I played it with 1.3 + Lua just fine), and I said I would play December Collapse with 1.3 + Lua in this topic, then people said, "You need 2.0!", and it kind of just spiraled from there.


I do have to say, though, the music choice was exquisite. I'm glad you've posted the tracks you've used, as that makes it a ton easier to download it. Also, I've been waiting for someone to use the castle theme from DKC2 again. That is absolutely an amazing track. It's kind of sad the only other person I've been able to find that used that track was Dragonmaster146 in his level "Toxic Castle". I haven't been able to find any others.

Also, I never knew your original username was LayerMM12P, Enjl. Was it for Knux's forums?

One more thing: Enjl, why is the play-through of Toxic Castle on your channel "Private"?

Nobody'd forcing you to regularly use 2.0 even though there's literally no downside. If you were smart about your stubbornness you'd have made a 2nd installation for 2.0-related stuff that you just barely ever touch.
Also I can't believe you're so insistent on using the version you're using while not even knowing that it's called 1.3.0.2. I'm honestly surprised how you've been insistently wrong on every level throughout this discussion.

Also, not ditching the scorebar doesn't really have any downside either. Ditching it is just only inconsiderate towards people who genuinely like scores and numbers.

You're quite literally the only person on this community who cares about score. Neither did I know about your obsession with numbers, nor did I feel the need to include a useless feature for one random person who might play the game.

Calling the music choices exquisite is hardly meaningful if you're not familiar with the scenarios in which they're used in.

That's quite a lot of attitude from someone requesting it to be dropped. I have to agree with Enjl here though; I really don't understand the point of a score, especially in a game like this. I never really even look at it or care about it and don't see any reason to

If you want a compromise then there should be at least a way to display / undisplay score through the Options menu. If this can be implemented then it would be a fine way to meet in the middle.

No. The score counter is not essential nor does it help the player in any way. The score has always been about bragging rights, but in a game where completion is what defines a good player the score becomes meaningless. You can try to get a really high score on any game if that pleases you, but if a game doesn't account for a score counter keep in mind it's precisely because you're not supposedto aim for a good score, but for completion..

You know what I forgot to mention in my last reply? That episode logo. That logo is a really frickin' good-looking episode logo. Like, perhaps, maybe the best around.


Seriously, though, Enjl, I kind of meant my last reply as a kind of "These are my reasons why". I was going to take the conversation to private messaging. I specifically mentioned that I didn't bring up all of the previous points everyone made because it would've taken up half the screen, as I pointed out earlier, not because I didn't take anything into account. I read all of the replies, and I'm working on responses now.

And, Supershroom, I might like a score system too, but the work required to add it as an option to turn off/on in the game looks like it would be a lot of work. And I meant "such is life" as in "life without 2.0".

Nowhere in the changelog of that version does it say Lua support is added. 1.3.0.2, the first lua-compatible version, is available here http://wohlsoft.ru/LunaLua/
