Open up the level forum to more than just Level Judges, that's where. No need to find anyone, no need to have judges, and reviews get done.
Everyone can review a level and get it approved by the LJs, I don't see the problem. Many people just don't have enough interest to do that, however removing the entire group isn't the solution.
The problem that lies in that is, and correct me if I am misunderstanding what you mean here, that would promote more laziness for the judges and promote more reasons why they continue to do almost nothing. If an LJ can approve a regular users review to count as if it was an LJ review then why should they take the time to review? It would just be quicker and easier if the said LJs just kept approving instead of writing their own reviews.

Except that the whole system is not being at all. Levels are barley getting any criticism by any regulars and the Level Judges are pretty much the only one who has to. Yeah the "review approve" system may do the job easier for the LJs, however it's barley used

This bothers me the most. LJs do what they have to do, because regular users give almost no attention to providing feedback. Which is why I feel AeroMatter's idea is a die roll; either regulars get encouraged and write more criticism, or levels rot even faster and even quieter.

Well, this discussion is devolving. This is completely pointless and unnecessary. Time to stop lurking and give my two cents!
...I don't think that removing the entire LJ group is a good idea either. However, we should definitely have more Level Judges, or more active ones at least. We can demote the people whose lives are getting busy and promote new people who are willing/ready to commit that write good reviews. Simple!

So the general consensus has come to the idea that LJs should not be scrapped entirely, but modified in a way that they are more productive in what they do, but not taking away their privileges. Amongst all the other discussion taking place, I personally think the Level Judge regulations should really be more stringent in order to get them to review more frequently. Here's a system I'm gonna propose.
1. All Level Judges must make at least one review per week unless IRL reasons get in the way and/or the Levels forum is near empty.
2. If they don't make a review in that week, they will be warned once, and if they get three warnings in a row they will be kicked off the team. Effectively, if you don't review in three weeks you get demoted.
That way, it prevents people from keeping the position yet haven't reviewed in a month, and it also gives more of an incentive to review. What do you think of the idea?

I think it sounds like a good idea! That way levels won't clog up the saction of unreviewed levels. The only problem with it is that one of them may find some kind
of loophole

You can say that about anything... and if they do find a loophole, we can always fix it by changing the rules.

Wouldn't it be great if levels were discussed and debated this much?

I assume his idea would mean we'd go around asking people who seem to be good reviewers if they'd like to be level judges. I guess we could try that but usually they ask us first if they're really interested in the job.

When I came to you, I hope a rejection does not mean permanent rejection. I plan to try again in June.

I doubt it's permanent

I think this would be fair:
-Inactive leveljudges will be lose the judge-position
-Users, who gives fair and good reviews will be get judges, if they want
-The Admins / active leveljudges csn do this!
(my idea)

Wouldn't that potentially lead to a bias factor though in deciding the judges? In that, they might be biased towards their friends than someone that they don't know and seems to be a good reviewer.

Can you stop using the word bias in a way like this? Just bc someone is friends with someone here doesn't mean they inmediatly want this guy to be a judge.

It's a die roll as much as letting the Graphics forum being left to users instead of "Graphic Judges" or the Art forum being left to "Art Judges." As in, my idea circumvents all of the BS associated with the current system and lets engagement come in naturally. It's a complete overhaul by getting rid of "reviews," Judges, probably most of the level subforums, and a change to the standard topic layout. Again, it would probably look like the Art forum is my idea were fully implemented where people would keep their art (levels) in a thread for it, and others can come in and talk about them. This whole notion of needing a bunch of people to be the arbiters of unbiased and objective reviewers doesn't even come up because neither them or their reviews are needed, just like "Art Judges" and their reviews would be needed in the art forum for discussion and criticism to come about. Also as a note, the Level Judges who are supposedly the thin line between the thin line between rotting threads and activity would still be able to post. Their ability to talk about a level isn't dependent on the color of their name or their status, and if it is then that is yet another problem.
Just so it's clear this is my idea, as parts of it are ignored and it undermines the other parts:
- get rid of LJs
- get rid of reviews and especially the 10-score reviews
- people post their levels in one thread instead of in different threads
- get rid of the level subforums except for the Battle one (quality or otherwise outstanding levels can be featured in a sticky to separate them from the bunch)
- let discussion happen naturally as they do on the other forums
I don't think it's a coincidence that the two most "moderated" forums on here, Levels and FF&R, receive the least amount of activity and engagement either btw.

Aero, I agree with you on the thread inactivity, but getting rid of the group entirely isn't the solution. We just need more judges, and active ones at that. That way, levels would be moved much faster, and there'd be no empty or unbalanced threads.

That's pretty much the same system we have in place right now.

Yeah, but it's kinda flawed. How come those that haven't reviewed in a whole month are still judges?
