I based everything off of these elements, so try asking before making assumptions and acting like this. <- @everyone
The point isn't the score, it's the elaboration on it. Judges should give the designer feedback on how they can improve. What they did right and what they did wrong. I don't care if you give a level a 1/10 which all other judges give 5/10 as long as the review itself is solid, but if it's just "Please uninstall SMBX", that's nothing short of rude.
If you're trying to argue like "there isn't anything to say about that level" then I will agree as long as all other judges also weren't able to say anything of substance, or provided a review from which one can imagine what you think of the level (though that's a case by case scenario).
If you're however trying to argue by saying "I'm not playing this shit", then I'd urge you to reconsider accepting a position as judge in future contests, because all it is is backing out of the task you volunteered to do.
Like I said, I am not here to hold your hand and give out gold stars because you can use SMBX. I will not write an entire review bitching about how bad a level is, because it will only get redundant after a while. I find it easier to note the flaws or keys points that I find extraordinary or unique rather than note EVERYTHING. We have five judges, I won't spend the time writing the same shit they write. If Marina had included all of the text that I worked off of, perhaps you'd see things differently. My rubric is designed to incorporate statements most fitting to the level with an appropriate rating for hat individual category. Once each one is tallied up, you get the end result.
The review YOU are seeing is just my "notes": I.E. extra comments I had separate from the generalized comments.

PixelPest's outburst has been dealt with. Now I would like everyone to stop with the rude remarks. Only absolutely civil discussion is allowed about this.

To give my two cents on the matter, I played his level and I'm pretty surprised a lot of the judges took away so many points for difficulty, which indeed was a problem with the level, and I know I've been criticized for taking away points for high difficulty, but even I wouldn't have taken any more points away than what ElTipsta did.

Although I still don't agree with the judges' reactions to the difficulty of my level, I'd like to apologize for my post earlier. Even though I was outraged by seeing the way my level placed, I shouldn't have acted like that. Sorry

No you are in the right to have a conflicting opinion.
Now that you've calmed down a bit, I can ask you an actual question.

In my playthrough I saw there were two exits, with one inside a castle. I couldn't actually figure out how the hell to get to this "extra" path...how does do it!!!?

Are you asking how to get to the hidden star? (It doesn't actually end the level)

I intend to. Not with commentary though, just as showcases.

Now I kinda wish I entered this contest, but I also don't because looking at the reviews, this looks like one of the worst contests that this forum has had (no offense to the participants :/)

I feel like I should had done an "5 min challenge" instead of an hour challenge. I mean... Like... Even a level made in an hour ends up scoring more than 4.60 something, which my CC12 level is a little ahead than that.

I'd be surprise if it scores higher than my CC12 contest level. But it's probably just coming from different judges.

Whoa, hey! I've been busy these last few days, and I haven't been able to keep up-to-date with everything. I finally got a break, and I'm checking out this topic, and I'm like:

"Dear Lord! Looks like there was definitely some heat between some users in this topic. The salt is just flowing in waves!"

So, yeah, stuff happened, and there was definitely some rude and expletive word discourse. I just want to get this out right now: I feel like there was some wrong-doing on both sides, and forgiveness would probably be the best thing right about now. Just to know what the level was like, I downloaded it (The contest version) and played it myself. And, honestly, (Please don't crucify me for this) I feel the judges were a bit harsh on this. I played it from start to finish without using the editor or cheat codes (Although I didn't get the secret star), just pure gameplay, and I found it to be kind of fun. Yes, the difficulty was insane (And that's made a lot worse by lag), but I feel the level was just short enough to offset the difficulty.

Although, I want to be perfectly clear on this, the level wasn't purely good. The first half was okay, but the second half just felt like it was severely punishing. There were tight pinches, and some of the boo positions felt unfair, such as when you go into the pipe after the checkpoint, and he chases you because you were facing left when you went into the pipe (Although that's a problem with SMBX, not just the level). And I can't comment on the secret star route, as I didn't get it, so I don't know how it was, so the judges may be completely justified in lowering this level's score.

Well, that's my entire opinion on the thing. If enough people tell me to, I will play the level again, and try to get the secret star, just to see how bad that part is (If it's as bad as they say it is).

But I agree with mariogeek, the salt just keeps gushing in. How's about we all put a cork in that salt dispenser?
