I took second place in another wifi tourney last week o: Gonna compete in my first local next Saturday. On a slightly different subject have some videos of me and two of the other entrants from the wifi tourney screwing each other over =P
In case you didn't know, Pirate Ship was released as DLC today(available only for the Wii U version) alongside Super Mario Maker. The Duck Hunt stage was also released as free DLC for Smash 3DS.
Also holy hell shield hitstun was like doubled in the new update. This is actually a really significant global game mechanic change. Shields are way less safe than they were yesterday.
^
It's been shown that that can be escaped with Shield Smash DI: by mashing the analog stick or C stick towards Lucario you can push him away and escape. It's still really hard though. I think that the new shield mechanics are a good thing overall, anyways.
Yeah the guy in that video was trying to escape as is evidenced by Ganon sort of "stuttering" at one point, and I played with another online friend today who got caught in it and was able to SDI just enough to get away from the ledge but still ended up with a broken shield. Depending on his Aura it gives you less and less time to escape. A few other 'Carios have tested it and confirmed max Aura ASC gives you 3 seconds before your shield breaks, whereas Lucario without or with low Aura gives you around 6 to 8 seconds.
Some have said the D-pad works best for SDI because button mashing resets quicker than analog stick spamming =P
Double post but ZeRo's 56 winstreak has finally come to an end
Watching this live was one of the most hype things ever lol. But still, respect to him making such an amazing run; 56 wins in a row is nothing to scoff at o: Play on For Glory as Dr. Mario confirmed best training method
Also I came in 6th out of 49 in my local this last weekend. Much better than I was expecting and much much better than last month =P

At E3 2014: I bowed down to ZeRo.....
10/19/15: I bow down to the new god of Sm4sh.
I had a feeling that this would happen sooner or later, but I never thought that it would be then.
In other words... SMBX 2k16: The wrath of Nairo confirmed.

True....
But now that ZeRo's been beaten, we have our "TRUE" god of Sm4sh for beating the original god of Sm4sh who had a 56 win streak.
This is definetley going around the internet in 3... 2... 1... (Never mind it just did).

Sure, Nairo probably would've beaten him eventually, but he did it after a bracket reset in particular - he had to win two sets in a row with the best Smash 4 player in the world - staying in focus like that is no small task, and the skill of both of them is pretty incredible. It's not a shock, but it is damn impressive.
