It is entirely custom made and like everything else here it is a work in progress. I also tried to go a for a style that is similar to a cross between SMB3 and SMW so that it has a cartoony look to it, yet is colored in a way that it looks a bit more real.

Yeh, so ficking fustrating to mak smow level, GOD!

That tile set reminds me of a dark world tile set more than a snowy tile set, but there is some good stuff here TurnipTheBoo!
It kind of as a night-time color scheme to it, in my opinion. Nevertheless, very nice sprite work.

@TurnipTheBoo: The middle terrain tile looks sort of weird to me. I like the shading on the terrain but I don't like the fill. I know you were aiming for a SMW styled cartoonish look, but for me it just looks a bit bland.

It looks nice, and I like the blood on the walls. The one above looks weird though.

I think the shading on the floor looks weird as well, I personally think it should be downwards. The stairs also look weird, like they are broken or something. Finally, I think you should stick with one perspective alone, because you're using two different perspectives on your tileset, one that allows you to see the wall and one that doesn't. Using both is rather confusing. I love the mist, the ripped walls and the windows the most.

If you noticed Donkey Kong Country also used two different perspectives, too.

I don't remember there being any. Could you post a screenshot proving so?

Ooh, that looks really nice! Kinda reminds me of Clock Tower on the SNES, actually.

Tileset Update!

Also, @Natsu: I did take a critical look at my work and I do agree that there is not a lot of verity to the sheet. In the next update I am planning on adding in some more blocks for the middle terrain tile, similar to that of the SMB2 Mushroom Gorge tileset with cracks and gems that you can place through out the tileset to hopefully accomplish gaining that verity.

@fireflowerhour: Thanks! yes, this remind because the level is creepy :)

@Natsu: Well the stairs I tried make better, but i can't found the tile and bgo that fit, because was disproportionate. I chose the 2 perspectives because is more easy make the level with tileset of this form. I not understand that you says about shading on the floors! Thanks! :)

You made the lower part of the floor bright and the upper part of the floor dark. It should be the opposite.

This is essentially the final version of the tileset, in all of it's glory. I plan to port this into SMBX soon, but before I do I want to get some criticism on the work that I do.

Looks really nice, and really full too. I love the BGOs you made. What is that on the lower-right corner though?

Thanks Natsu! And the lower-right corner thing is a small snow pile. Just something small for an extra little effect. Similar to that of the small grass used on the SMW Sign Graphic.

That tileset is absolutely fantastic! What do you have for ceiling tiles besides what is there right now?

No, I meant the one to the left, I pretty much guessed what that was. I mean that thing that has the same texture as the trees's leaves and the bushes.

Oh, that one. That Background Object was my attempt at making something similar to that of those big bushes seen in Super Mario World. I was doing a bit of experimenting when making the graphic for it, but frankly I thought that the leaves on the tree's flipped was the best looking ones because of their cartoony look and realistic feel. Plus, they look similar to the hill BGO's in SMB3
Layla wrote:That tileset is absolutely fantastic! What do you have for ceiling tiles besides what is there right now?
As of now, on my computer I have 2 other alternate versions of those ceiling tile sets. One of them where the snow is replaced with rocks and boulders of sorts like the SMW cave tileset. And the other one is like the above ground tileset, but flipped around, similar to that of the forest tileset in the mushroom forest level of "Super Mario Star Expedition" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyC99mBp7ps <-- that one.

I'm finished with the regular-colored tiles for this set. Right now I'm just working on recoloring them to other colors, like the underwater rocks.

This isn't exactly a WIP, I stopped working on it a while ago, but I might get back to it some day.

Who can guess what it is?
