@Liraxus: Those Night Guys could use a grey outline so they are somewhat easier to tell apart, their colour looks way too similar to the environment's.

@Creasion: Looks really neat, I like the shading on the tree, pretty 8-bit-ish.

@AirShip: For some reason those tilesets remind me of Skyward Sword. I really like the shading, though. You made great use of the dithering effect on those tilesets, keep up the good work. Btw is it weird that the first thing that came to mind when seeing that pointy NPC was a penis?

Bringing this awesomeness to this thread. Original sprite by Behenna on Minecraft, ripped it to SMBX, used my own palette on it, and gave it a nice floating animation. What do you think?

Also something completely new although Enjl may recognize from past year, the Truphin'. I intended this enemy to be a staple on the project I and Enjl were going to make, but we sorta left the idea to rot with time because we were both busy. Truphin' comes in multiple types each with its own characteristic. The pink one's faster than the green one, the blue one's slower than the green one, the ghost one replaces the Eerie and the golden one climbs walls and ceiling. Thoughts?

Wait, so this guy built the boo in Minecraft? Looking epic, anways Natsu, I can see an interesting Boss fight out of it.
Also, I like the concept you got there for those little guy's ahah! They look splendid. You should probably make like a Trumphin Leader or some boss character out of it.

Also what project was it for?

@Natsu: I find it funny the fact that all they think it this npc was based on a penis, lol.
However, the truth is that I did it basing me in a crooked arrow.

About your sprite, I really like the looks of it, maybe, if you add more animations (in the tongue, eyes, etc ...).


@Creasion: Thank you, I intend to use the sprites in a project I'm creating.

About his background, it reminds me a bit backgrounds of games 16-bit, very good.

Edit: I know about the one tile with incorrect coloring, I've already fixed it.
I like them, but it was really hard for me to see them at first.
Sweet. I designed Night guys to generally blend into the scenery so it'd keep players on their toes, which is why they're hard to track in foliage.

Anyways, one more screen before I go dark, the actual level in progress.

Though I wanted to add in more Christmas-y things, I don't have the time. Maybe in a future update I would but for now, ill let you guys use this tileset in this state.

Looking for suggestions on this tileset I am making for a new level. I am planning on adding more to it, but I want to know what I could improve upon now before continuing.

I can see you're aiming for a simple design with that tileset, and I like that. But I have trouble trying to figure out where is the light source coming from. In the tileset itself it seems to be coming from the upper-right, but the vertical pipe shows that the light source comes from the upper-left. That's not all the horizontal pipe shows that the light source is coming right from above. I'd stick with one of those if I were you. Other than that it looks nice.

I like this tileset although I do find the dithering to be a bit unnecessary. Also, like Natsu said, the light source is inconsistent. Aside from that, it looks pretty good

Wow nicely done MosaicMario, the shading looks fine for an eel and I can see people using it on beach themed levels.

My 2nd attempt to make a friendly NPC, I spent 100 minutes to make this graphic. Of course it's too big IMO and it would be fine if someone can reduce the size...
