Natsu wrote:@Liraxus: Nice, really nice. Coincidentally I'm listening to one of the The 8th Annual VLDC's tracks that would so fit a level with that atmosphere.
I don't really use the VLDC music for weird reasons, I already have music for the level.

I think it'd be better to use LunaLua because I don't think the second is possible the way I believe you intend it to work.
EDIT: Sorry Liraxus, didn't see your post. Yeah, that one may fit as well with that environment. Although I don't know why you avoid it so much.

That pattern looks sorta repeated, it makes it look rather ugly to be honest. I'd say a different pattern would be a lot better.
Anyway, I have a new castle tileset I've been working on since ... today actually, about 2 hours, even though major of that time I spent it doing other things, but whatever. =P
And in case you're wondering or want any, no, I'm not making nor ladders nor slopes because I'm way too lazy and it doesn't nor it seems it'll look that bad without them.

Heh, I instantly recognise your style. Looking good! Maybe some more bgos/a sizeable/bowser statues?

@Enjl: I was actually planning to expand this tileset BGO-wise, though I do not plan to add sizeables, for this tileset in particular at least.
@Creasion: Nah, it didn't take literally 2 hours, it actually took less. And it isn't that impressive considering the terrain is just the fill expanded. And no, it's not my intend to do a rainbow castle, but rather have different versions for all worlds. The white one could maybe be used along with another pillar that's the same colour as the fill, maybe, like two types of pillars.
And since I'm at it I might as well post two other spritesheets that I've made a couple of weeks ago.
I actually posted the grassland one on a Spanish facebook group administrated by DarkMecha, but I'm certain nobody has seen the cave one.

I REALLY like those transitional tiles - they look really good!
The shading on the grass seems a bit odd and inconsistent though.

Thanks, and what do you mean by "inconsistent"?

Thanks a lot. But I'm far from becoming a legend yet, my skills have yet to compare with the such of Enjl and Sednaiur.

this looks awesome. It reminds me of something that I did with my koopaling castle tilesets which I still have yet to release due to the forums' previous issue. (I originally updated my gfx pack and then the forum died and the post was gone so yeah.) Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I really like how expansive this is. The shading and texture is beautiful. I also like the transitional blocks. (I'm honestly surprised I haven't done anything like that yet.)

Some tiles have this nice texture on the grass, but other ones look smooth and less nice - and when it's mixed it doesn't look good at all. I also can't quite tell where the light's coming from.

That's because it's supposed to represent the entire grass going to the inside of the tileset, and that dithered part at the bottom of the terrain is supposed to represent a lot of grass, don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly here. As for the light source I didn't put it on a specific place, that's why you can't tell where's it coming from.

*Yawn* Last screen for the night probably.
Hoping to use little foliage since I couldn't get the pattern to fit everything for the life of me. Might redo it some time in the distant future but for now sleep.

@ Looking good Liraxus, I like the little brown things on the leaves I assume those are branches or something?
WIP World Intro screen
Originally was going to be a level background but I scaled it wrong.

Yep.
Also meet the first NPC of the level, Nigh guys, you can't jump on them, but spin-jumps are A-OK!
Edit: I know about the one tile with incorrect coloring, I've already fixed it.

I like them, but it was really hard for me to see them at first.

@PROX
Eh, I'm assuming that was the point?
Keep up the good work Liraxus!
Also, here's an update on my world loading screen.
