Heard about this from SED: https://www.opshieldsup.org/

Also instead of buying masks use this: https://masks4all.co/
Don't forget that masks have very dubious benefits for healthy people, should not substitute physical distancing, and should be clean and worn properly to get any potential benefit.
Quoting this to re-iterate it because of this:

Disposable masks aren't being disposed of properly and ending up in the ocean. Reusable cloth masks work but to make the cotton requires a lot of energy, so the best thing you can do is reuse materials to make your own mask. Here's a tutorial to make your own with shirts:

Countries will now be able to manufacture their own generic versions of the vaccines without being sued by the pharmaceutical companies. This is an important step towards ending the pandemic.

I got vaccinated the other day and had some common side effects the day after. Looking forward to the end of the 2 week period after to be fully vaccinated.

Also a reminder not to be gross:

@Aero what vaccine? When will you have full immunization?

I will have only in a bit more than a month, and I'm getting super impatient already

I'm keeping those specifics like exact day and vaccine to myself for privacy reasons, but I did get one of the single dose vaccines and it won't be long until I count as fully vaccinated.

Source that people died from the vax shoots and not from something else?

Getting vaxed is still better than not getting it.

Virologist Christian Drosten put it really well: "there are only two ways to deal with the virus. Get it, or get vaccinated."

I'm assuming the user banned posted something about the vaccine being lethal? I don't know, but people should really fact check statements they find online, and make sure statistics and other sources of info are legitimate before they make a point, especially in this case with covid and the influx of misinformation being spread

Yeah they posted a message of how people who got the vaccine died after getting it.

Posts like these appear a lot on social media like Facebook or Twitter, just yesterday there was a trending # in Germany called #IwontvaccinatemyKids.

Twitter is full of these # often almost everyday, it’s very surprising that Twitter isn’t even doing anything against all these conspiracy theories on their end. Cause In the end it looks like Twitter and Facebook are offering a home and place for people to drop their bullshit and their wrong accusations. It’s already hard when you even have colleagues at work that spread around these misinformation stuff.

I often see messages in town that say "Everyone who’s vaccinated will die" to which we can easily respond with "Someday everyone dies cause no one lives forever"

Let’s just agree it’s better to take care of yourself and your family and try to stay healthy and if possible get the vaccine, it helps a lot to protect you from the virus.

I am fully vaccinated now along with about 36% of people in my region, and 46% getting at least one dose. It's almost over here thankfully. I think in about a month this will be in the rear view mirror in the US.

Also, as some general advice with talking about vaccines refer to this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... dex_en.svg
At least one late night comedian here urged people not to share their YouTube video about vaccines because it would be counterproductive, but others haven't really...

In germany it's just almost 12% full vaccinations. I wish we could get at least 1% done every day. Besides 12300 new cases is still way too much. 36% is far from over as well. I heard that the US have plenty of refusers?

There are more drawbacks anyway. Mutations are dangerous, they reduce the commonly perceived 95% success rate and eventually we'll have to start the whole campaign again in less than a year.

I don't even know why the government still plans on ditching all restrictions, with 50k daily cases, it shouldn't even be up in the air at this point, just confirmed that the restrictions won't be gone on Monday. Although realistically, the government will pe announce a delay to the lift1ing of restrictions at the 11th hour.

My state looks like it's going to plateau at 50% vaccinated. When I go out it's basically only staff that are wearing masks at this point. The next wave is starting so I guess we'll all see how that goes.

it's because the tory party in government in Westminster have been using the COVID-19 pandemic to do two things:

- kill as many disabled people as possible by helping to spread the virus, thus getting rid of people they deem to be a burden and do not believe are worth living. this is basically what they've been doing since 2010 but on a larger scale.
- transfer as much money as possible to their mates (hence the 37 billion spent (on paper) for test and trace) without any regard for what the public say because in practise they are no threat to them

when you look at it from that perspective, everything makes sense.

there will be another full lockdown in a few weeks when it gets too hot to handle. it's just not a sustainable position and it endangers the whole world.

anyway, i managed to get both shots so i have some protection for myself, which is good.

As much as I dislike Johnson and the tories, you're literally accusing of euthanasia? That's not something you can proclaim without evidence.

Do you think they just accidentally forgot that people with poor immune systems and lower social status are most affected by pandemics?
