Why do we still have the egg ranks? From what I heard, we were going to keep them for the entirety of April, but the Easter egg hunt has been long shelved, it's been nearly three months since Easter and summer's pretty much just started. With these points in mind, I see no point in keeping the ranks to be honest, and I have a feeling the staff have forgotten to remove them.

I mean if you don't want to keep it just ask someone from the staff to remove it from you and give you back the other rank pictures.

Honestly why complain about it tho? Ranks don't mean anything they just a simple picture with a text above them.

They are ranting on about how they still have them and that they want to get rid of them.

But really what does it matter? Rank is rank it doesn't mean anything special anyway.. it's just a pixel image

Also, I know I say this a lot, but why do we even have ranks in the first place? As Mable said, they mean absolutely nothing, and the only reason I can think of that they're here is to show the amount of posts people have made, which you can already see right below it.

That would be a good reason, but I don't really think we really need to show milestones like that.

-encourages spamposting to increase postcount and rank (people still make "yay xth post i am now a thing" posts or "what does the cheep cheep mean" topics)
-confuses new members
-creates dissatisfaction with users like in the post i quoted
-bloats right side of the posts

Snessy and Mable have a point too. The way ranks are used on this forum has nothing to do with displaying actual ranks of users within a system to display their status (moderator, admin, founder, contest winner, idk) but creates the illusion of such a ranking system linked to post count. "Oh man that guy has 1474 posts, he's gotta be smart and important and a great and loved member of the community." I can honestly not see any benefits to the system.

Enjl's totally right. The ranking system does more harm than good imo.

Boy i didn't know having a different opinion about ranks is so bad.

Can I ask to remove a rank from my account?
