They look okay so far. At a glance the arm on the third sprite from the left looks awkward, and the same issue with a strange looking straightened arm is present on a few other sprites as well. I also think that the first sprite from the left where Luigi is facing backwards does not need shading at the top of the hat (likewise with the climbing sprites). On the swimming sprites the chest also protrudes way top far imo

Thanks, I was trying to make the death effect very cartoon-like! :lol:

What's so unusual about it? Looks pretty usual to me. I like it. The only weird thing I see (which is something I noticed in your gfx thread as well) is that the pipe's top pieces are shaded really weirdly.

Notice how the shading in SMB3 serves to illustrate how a 3D pipe would look from the side.

The unusual thing about my tilesets are the BGOs. They look pretty weird. Like the trees are weird, and in the cave one, the mushrooms are weird.

For something as detailed and amazing as this, you sure do work fast!
I'd love to see more like this in the future. This one looks like it could be really useful!

It has been a while, so I practice my very own pixel skills.
To start with something, I challenged myself by increasing the readability of the message font. I chose the grey scale to get my feeling for light and shadow back. Colors are not important yet.

the original font just recolored to fit: show

It took me quite some time to get a hang of it. It wasn't even the full alphabet.

first redesign: show

After having the whole piece finished, I was getting curious and decreased the letters height even further.

I am still not happy. I haven't managed to make the letters pop yet. Experiments of playing with the background helped neither.
Well I do like the second the most so far.

oh wow, I have a twin xD Anyway, this font looks really good compared to the original. Original is fine, but this is definitely more pleasant to look at imo. Although, the "l" looks kinda weird.

Well I do like the second the most so far.
I do like the first redesign more, mainly because it feels more natural and less "cramped" than the second one.
I dislike the "i" however, because to me it looks like the number 1 with a dot on the top of it (when you notice that, it doesn't look much like an "i" anymore). The rest of the letters look fine, but maybe the overhang on the t and the h should be removed because it just looks like the pixels have been shifted to the left.
Other than this, i really do like this font, and it is definitely more readable than the original. I'd have to see this get used in-game to see how well it fits though, but i think you did a great job.

Nice to meet you, @PROX.
The first time, I became aware of your letters, it hadn't the same effect on me. It is more likely that things we have in common are limited. I enjoyed your artwork, which I have seen so far during my studies and research.

So 'Proxy' is my second part of my pen name. I do mostly accessibility stuff.
