Right, I know. We need some fundamental changes in the way we post, but I think the threads themselves are a good place to start.

Exactly why is this megathread a thing when we have a complete subforum about site discussion called SuperMarioBrosX.org? Look, even the subforum's description says it's for topics related to the site.

Because some ideas don't need a thread.

I'm not sure what you exactly mean by that. Why would they not need a thread?

He doesn't want to waste space.

I mean that there are certain ideas/questions that pertain to the site that aren't significant enough to warrant their own thread. It's for the same reason that we have the chat thread for the video games board.

Yet there are lots of locked topics with no replies on them that serve no purpose. In fact, pretty much none of the locked topics serve any purpose anymore, and there's a lot of them.
Just look at this: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 51&t=10100
Why was the topic not deleted? It apparently broke the rules and there were no replies before its locking, and the topic is definitely a waste of space.

But so far pretty much everything I've read is significant enough to warrant their own thread. This thing is pretty minor, shouldn't it be merged to this megathread? It is about the site, after all. Oh, and how about this?

Deleted. I've actually brought this up with the staff beforehand, and this shouldn't be as prevalent from now on.

Removal of the image/video threads was not too good of a decision in my opinion. I tend to like both of those a lot, since they tend to be very entertaining and sometimes even educational.

Hopefully people won't take this too harshly though, and I guess it does promote certain kind of content aka levels and stuff.

I fixed the StarNet webchat so users may now query back and forth with other users instead of just only being able to read the messages.

Can the description for "Help & Support" be made more specific to the editor, and the description for the SMBX.org be made more specific to questions about the forum?

I second that. While Help & Support is in the SMBX subforum, just adding that would really make it clear. The SMBX.org description is fine though imo, but adding that wouldn't hurt ofc.

The description says "Having a problem with SMBX?" and it's in the SMBX category. I think it's fine.

Yeah you would because it is fine, but people still make that mistake for some reason. A slight change wouldn't hurt.

It wouldn't exactly help, either. My guess is that the people posting those threads don't read the forum descriptions.

This wasn't the best way to handle it IMO, because
1. It doesn't give much of a reason (basically it's "there's no problem"). It wouldn't be a bad post, but this is seemingly why the thread needs to be closed, because it's the last post.
2. It's sarcastic (I know it's hard to be nice to someone or a statement you don't like, but you don't have to respect someone to put something in a nice way).
3. It is a rushed lock; if you have a point to make, it's okay to make it, but I think it's a bit ahead of the discussion to say when a discussion has run its course, as opposed to letting it die out on its own.

Thanks for you opinion.

Not exactly sure what Xanos wants from me, but this keeps popping up as the first message when I log into the IRC:

[16:49] Mithos [APPDATA@StarNet/bot/Xanos] requested CTCP VERSION from SquishyRex

I'd ask him...err... it, but, being a Bot I don't expect to get any straight answers that way.

Basically Xanos/Mithos is checking if you're a bot.
