I know something you could improve,if you move the level editor via the arrow keys and you as a example press the Right and Up Arrow Key,the camera moves kinda... uh bumpy i guess (dont know how to call it)...

I only found out about this now, seems pretty cool so far!
I don't know if this has been already answered but can someone tell me all the main differences and new features from SMBX, and can you still use custom graphics on a per level basis?

You also have alternate method of scroll: use the mouse wheel and CTRL key:
Mousewheel scrolling vertically, but together with CTRL-key - horizontally.
Also with ALT key you will control ZOOM and CTRL+= will restore 100% zoom.

Yes, you can use all custom graphics like SMBX using them. Editor is FULLY compatible with SMBX and using SMBX's file standards to work with SMBX levels and worlds.
Later I will write big page about features of SMBX and editor, but I will write now:

SMBX Internal editor
____________________________
  • Selection: Drag one item
  • Placing: only single items
  • Layers: you can't drag layers in list for sort and renaming of layer will cause lose of connections (events, NPC's attaching)
  • Events: renaming of event causing lose of connections
  • ItemBox: All settings switches in one item box
  • Properties of items: to edit settings of one item you should drag them from map and place again after edit
  • Warps: you can only place warp points with its settings.
  • Resizing: is not available, you should remove item and place again with new size settings
  • Screenshots: only current view port
  • GFX Sizes: image sizes of custom graphics should have same size which have original sprite

PGE Editor
____________________________
  • Selection: Miltiselection with moving groups of items, also with "no collision" thing you can place items over each other
  • Placing: Single-placing, Square fill, line draw, placing with overwrite mode. Sizable blocks drawing be rectangle drawing. Sizable blocks can be resized.
  • Layers: you can drag layers in list for make them more orderer, when you rename layer, connections will be SAVED
  • Events: You also can drag events in list, and renaming of event SAVING ALL CONNECTIONS. Also you shoundn't edit section settings to define "Change settings" event. Define all settings in same event without editing of current section settings.
  • ItemBox: you have list styled item box with filter search and editable tileset item box for your combos of items.
  • Properties of items: you can call context menu to edit some settings and you can edit full settings by "Properties box". You CAN add selected items into layer or you can create new layer for your items.
  • Warps: Entry-stile warps. You have available list of warps. To place warp, you should create entry for warp. Available to jump between warp points, open target level file, also you can choice point from world map directly to create "warp to world".
  • Resizing: You can resize item in the interactive mode by moving of corner/side grabbers to define new size of item.
  • Screenshots: you can export into image whole section of level or selected range of world map
  • GFX Sizes: you can use images with any sizes as custom graphics for your items, and sizes will be applied automatically
Also note: you can use with PGE any GFX with any sizes, but when you will use level in the SMBX, custom sizes will be work only for blocks and NPC's (with NPC.txt), because SMBX is using static size values and we should define them. LVL format isn't support size values for BGO.

Nice, and this will allow proper custom graphics, not simple reskins?

Yes, it allows any graphics by any sizes. Graphics sizes capturing dynamically from images.
But note for BGO and World map items:
SMBX is stupid and can't understand custom sizes of items if you wasn't set size values, and LVL format support size values only for blocks.
You can put block graphics with custom size, and PGE Editor will apply them and will automatically write size values for block which you was put. All sizes in the PGE autocatically capturing from image sizes.

Sounds good, I'm assuming custom sprites too
Is this gonna be as easy to use as SMBX?

I downloaded the lastest version, but I can't find the configs folder (where I have to put the SMBX configuration pack) anywhere inside the editor's folder. Why?

Create them ;-) By Default it was absence, but when you run editor without this folder, empty directory will be created by editor

EDIT: I was add config pack installation info into main post:

How to install configuration package into the editor
Spoiler: show
  • Open the editor's application folder
  • Open the configs folder. If it is not exist, create them!
  • Open downloaded archive with config pack and extract contents into configs directory, you must have config subdirectory with installed config pack.

Wow, this is great! It is better for making world maps than the regular smbx, because of all the copypaste tools and no stupid bugs with custom scenes.
