Wow, that was unnecessary. All I did was ask the guy a question.
What?? - I meant: It would be good for him to choose people that he knows very well. I sorry for saying randoms!

I've just thought of something that could be a great idea:
save stations like in Metroid, so that way when you come back to an episode, you'll spawn at that save station instead of the auto starting level. I think it would be a great idea even for people who are looking to build a Metroid styled episode. maybe a level reset option would be great too so you can determine whether the level resets or not once entered or exited.

Update:
Removed a lot of bulk code from NPC placement, and made it more fluid. This should help a lot with memory use.
Improved collision detection.
Implemented basic block-specific interaction.
Fixed bug where Mario gets stuck in the ground (may still happen, but is far more rare).
Mario falls from gravity slowly for now.
SMBX content is no longer used except for Mario, and Luigi's graphic for testing. This means until use of SMBX content is optional, SMBX content will need to be copied over into their corresponding VSMBX directories.

Good Job GhostHawk!!
Does this mean SMBX .lvl and .wld files will not be readable?

No not yet. VSMBX uses .vlvl and .vwld files as suggested by Wohlstand.

All of this is great to hear, GhostHawk! VSMBX is really taking off. Physics are good.

I should ban you on the spot for not using strawpoll. And I'm still not liking the idea of adding link anyway.

I never knew there was a rule that you have to use strawpoll. Sorry!

He was joking about banning you, he's just saying that strawpoll is better.

I've got another suggestion. What about adding an option to move a certain layer to certain coordinates. Like, if you want a layer to move differently after a random amount of time and want him to move to the same position nonetheless, this feature could be pretty useful.

Pretty much, and all the other things that come after, like world maps and in-game effects.

BEEP. BEEP. I'm having more and more ideas the less time I spend on my computer ... for some reason.
What about an option, or enemy, to follow the player's movement in some kind of pattern? Like, making the NPC move in the opposite direction as the player goes, or just copy him. This would be really helpful too.

Yeah I've been thinking about something similar, keep this in mind in case I forget.

Sorry if this question sounds rude on any way, I even think you might have came with this simple idea sooner but refused to do it due to your own laziness, but why not keep all ideas on a .txt file that you can check later instead of trying to remember them all on your own or just expect people to remind you? It's always better to have an organized list of possible implements when it comes to programming anyway.

Well I do keep text files but not for suggestions. I actually mentioned before for people to do that on their own since I can't really keep track of them and continue to program.

Well what about adding them to the main post then? That way you wouldn't even have to worry about inner issues either. I don't mind reminding you later, but I think this way things could go smoother.

Or maybe (just throwing things out there) have someone backlog all suggestions so that they may be presented later, and Ghosthawk can just look at them all at once and choose which ones he feels like implementing. Might not be the best thing, but at least he wouldnt have to scroll through this entire thread looking for them. Plus he wouldnt have to do any work towards adding suggestions either as a txt or part of the topic.

And I bet you're digging that idea because you love to take care of other people's work don't you?
Jokes asides, that may be helpful, but then again it's just the same as GhostHawk doing it himself.
