On the other hand, will vaccines be introduced in December already?

Vaccines won't be available until 2021. The Pfizer one has to be kept at extremely cold temperatures which will be hard to distribute, but there's another that can be kept warmer. If thousands of people are going to be gathering shoulder to shoulder in defiance already, they don't strike me as people that will be getting in line for vaccines. And with this crap country having bread lines in Texas with a new stimulus not being in the realm of possibility until February a lot of people are really going to get hurt.

No only deals exist to import then here so far, although it will take a Long time until everyone gets it and the sick and old are the first.

Not sure what side effects it can cause though, that’s another point to worry about.

Don't know anyone who has but I can see the person getting COVID-19 again after recovering, it's a virus after all not a bacteria. But there hasn't been any confirmations of it causing long-term damage on the WHO's website. Also, according to the WHO...

Spoiler: show

While it's true that it CAN be contracted again, there's also lots of evidence of long-term problems emerging after contracting COVID. Some people will not totally recover. Post-viral fatigue isn't uncommon, but long COVID is very debilitating to those that have it.

Additionally, 3 major vaccine developers have now concluded their late-stage trials. The results are looking promising! The AstraZeneca vaccine can be stored in a normal refrigerator I believe, unlike the Pfiezer vaccine which must be stored at -70.

There's 3 vaccines, and how they are going to be distributed is already cause for concern.

Probably best at this point not to get excited about a vaccine considering one will not be ready yet

This, It's nice to know it's going forward but even when it finally becomes to be a used tool it will take Months maybe years to even get it to everyone.

Plus we don't know about which people might have side effects from the injection.

It will be beneficial, but there are real side effects and the actual effectiveness at stopping the spread isn't clear yet. There is no promise of immunity and the distribution can make it so that well into next year, even with the vaccine, spread will still be causing lockdowns.

Agreed, the virus will probably also mutate or already has.

The most at-risk groups in my city will have vaccine access by the end of the year, it looks like. A lot sooner than I would have expected, although it’s going to be a lot longer before other groups are able to get it, and much longer before anything is going to change regarding masks and lockdowns.

If we're really really lucky then it won't come back next winter after it goes down again next summer plus vaccine

Doubt that, even with the vaccine it will stay with us. It will eventually mutate like it did in some places making it stronger plus don't forget that not everyone will take the vaccine so not everyone will be cured for some time.

I think there's a good chance it'll stick around, at least seasonally. The particular strain of flu at the centre of the 2009 swine flu pandemic actually went on to become a seasonal strain of flu. The chart below shows the number of positive influenza tests during the winter of 2019-20. The orange bar is strain H1N1pdm09, which is the swine flu strain! Obviously we have flu jabs for the most popular strains now, so don't be too worried.

The virus also may mutate but the chance of it gaining a positive mutation that helps it spread / make it more deadly is less likely than a random mutation that harms itself - mutations are complicated and not usually beneficial. Additionally, influenza viruses are affected by antigenic drift, which is why it's constantly evolving and coming back. I don't know anything about Covid and antigenic drift though.

Also, the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has been approved for use next week in the UK!

Well, people are still going to have large gatherings despite being instructed not to, with Christmas and New Years' and other holidays coming up where people usually throw parties.

Germany only allows up to 10 people from 2 Families on during Christmas and NY Eve, the rest of December you can now only have 5 persons from 2 families (Like 3 from one and the 2 from the other) but Children under 14+ do not count tot his.

Also New Years is only allowed privately, any public ones have been forbidden so that no crowds are around and no fireworks are being fired.

It's good to see some sort of precautions being taken right now. Whenever I walk to the store, I wear a mask; but I'm literally the only person who does wear one, most people I see walk about aimlessly in public without a mask

Funny how children under 14 don't count but 14-18 year olds do.

I don't know how I'd react if I got covid; I have mild asthma and used to take an inhaler for it, and I'm constantly around people who smoke, so breathing that in is slowly damaging my lungs
