I also hope it is world map based.

I would like something like the VLDC worldmaps, where the best are in one world, the worst in another, and the rest organized by theme.

Honestly, I think it can go either way around here.
After all it is a start to a new series since the CC12 episode got cancelled.
But yes, I do agree with the idea of a world map, it's a shame that they aren't used as much as hubs.
In fact one of the few reasons why people like to use hubs is because of the amount of "creativity" you have when designing it, I really wish there was more thought put into world maps...

You can actually make hubs creative. Instead of putting a tileset used in the level, picture frame what the level looks like or just a sign, you can put a thing that could explain what are gimmicks in the level had or if none, put something that makes the level different from the others.

I don't think that Ness was saying that you can't have as much creativity when making a world map, but that people don't have as much creativity making a world map.

What if it's a hybrid of world map and hubs, similar to SMB: Revisited? I'm sure some cool stuff could be done with that and Lua. Plus you get the best of both worlds. Each tier could be its own hub level, with, for example, tier 1 being a junkyard and the top tier being a palace or something else real nice.
Also, that sucks about the CC12 episode, but I'm still concerned about a contest episode that nobody talks about...
What about the svlc episode? Still waiting on those levels, Aristocrat!
