Yeah, but what's the point? How will it benefit the site? All it would lead to is people abusing it and writing in several fancy typefaces, which would be distracting.timocomsmbx2345 wrote:i mean like a different typeface
Weird, I always remembered the merged thread having the title from the first thread.Danny wrote:That's not a bug, just a phpbb feature because topics don't get changed. You can change the topic title in any post you make anyhow, but generally that's considered a dick move.TheDinoKing wrote:I just noticed a bug. There's literally nothing complex about that rule.Snessy the duck wrote:I don't really see the point of the whole "You need as many screens as the world amount" project rule. It just seems unnecessarily complex and pointless to me. I'd suggest changing it so the project must have at least 10 screens no matter what.
That does not really work because projects are of different sizes. Even the current rule is not perfect, but at least it is better than your suggestion. Also the current version is not very complex at all.Snessy the duck wrote:I don't really see the point of the whole "You need as many screens as the world amount" project rule. What do you mean by 'it's easy to miss out'?Cedur wrote:The problem is not the rule itself but the fact that it's easy to miss out. Guess there's not much that can be done about it.
The old projects forum rules had this but then that would allow one to post their project without even 1 level complete (which I did when I first posted Super Mario World at War).Snessy the duck wrote:Well, I just felt like it was kinda complex, but it's really not when I'm looking back at it, my bad. The thing is that people could simply only list 1 world and get away with 1 screen, even if their project doesn't have only 1 world, and even if they didn't do that, they could still post many screens of the same level to get around this rule. Also, projects don't always have worlds. A better suggestion would be to have there be at least 1 screenshot no matter the length.
The hub requirement is already included as part of the rules, in that you need 20% of levels in the project in screenshots, like for example a 40-level hub episode will need 8 screenshots at least. While it discourages people from posting projects which have only barely started, a problem that arises is that sometimes people will try to exploit this rule and make it seem like they've posted the screenshot requirement but have only really posted like two screenshots from the same level (or even the same section) or every single screenshot is from one world, which gives the illusion that they're far into the project but in actual fact they're just as far as if they'd only posted one screen, with no way of knowing.Snessy the duck wrote:Also, projects don't always have worlds. Depends if phpBB allows that.Knux wrote:Why not add a thanks system? I know a few forums that have an option to 'thank' a user if their post was useful/helpful/good. a positive reaction to a post basically, and a number showing on the user's bio. it's essentially the rep system but you can't downrep a user. may be a neat little feature to the site.
