So are you just going to like ignore Emral's thread? Imo it makes these subforums practically useless.
Forums for SMBX

It's already stickied?Nickname wrote:So are you just going to like ignore Emral's thread? Imo it makes these subforums practically useless.
That's a bit unfair. Joey is not debating whether or not to do something to benefit SMBX users; rather we're debating on the means.8bitmushroom wrote:If you want to call yourself the leader of the SMBX community, don't look at SMBX in a negative way and actually do something for the community that would benefit it.
On the other hand, that thread requires all the effort to be on the part of Emral to organize the submissions (not that Emral is doing a bad job), when a system that is easy for any user to update to would be inherently better in my opinion.Nickname wrote:So are you just going to like ignore Emral's thread? ik, I wasn't talking to the staff, I was talking to Tervantez especially since what he wanted to do is p much exactly what Emral already did.AeroMatter wrote:It's already stickied?Nickname wrote:So are you just going to like ignore Emral's thread? Imo it makes these subforums practically useless.
If there happens to be downtime on my end and I find myself unable to update the thread for a certain amount of time, I can contact a moderator if they're kind enough to take over for a bit (as moderators can edit any topic), or give editing permissions to someone who's willing to take over for that period of time. Importing all the currently available graphics will also not take longer than a week, so there's no reason to worry about that.Magician wrote: On the other hand, that thread requires all the effort to be on the part of Emral to organize the submissions (not that Emral is doing a bad job), when a system that is easy for any user to update to would be inherently better in my opinion.
While I busy with diploma, I have some sketches and technical schemes of new system. This system will use Web-UI to have work with system via browser and JSON-API which allows a creation of side software to manage graphics stuff with more convenient way. When I will finish my diploma project, I will have more time to do works with a stuff.Joey wrote:This would be the best option. I could probably create it but it would take some time from me. Feel free to create something like this and I'll review it and add it to the graphics section of the site.Wohlstand wrote:I think, we should to create a GFX catalogue system which will provide search by various things to have able find stuff more convenient. It is my old idea to implement this thing to allow find necessary graphics to get usage of them. Engine will be based on the database with tables: graphics and categories, styles. We will have able to search graphics by: title, style, category, color theme, etc.
Did 8bit seriously get banned by this post?8bitmushroom wrote:Did you bother to read the rest of my post or are you just nitpicking reasons to call me out for something irrelevant?Joey wrote:Do you like creating pointless arguments?8bitmushroom wrote:But by following that logic and mindset, if we created a forum dedicated to SMBX, we would end up removing it somewhere down the road.
No, it's nobodies business anyway. Any future replies here about it will earn a warning. Back on topic please.sleepy wrote:Did 8bit seriously get banned by this post?
See now I feel like we are digging way too deep into this. Organization usually makes things easier to find, but overcompensating can basically just change the look of the mess at hand without actually fixing the problem. Not too sure about GFX Judges either, LJs serve a good purpose, but judging graphics might be a bit pointless. Constructive criticism is enough to helping budding designers grow and existing designers further develop their work.SnifitGuy wrote:I personally think it would be a good idea to have more of light/dark/neutral tileset subforums based upon color and look. Hell, we could have gfx judges decide what theme it is! XD
