I'm making a vanilla level without custom music, gfx or events/layers. The level is supposed to make the player question what a level really needs to be good, it's contemporary art :^)

First of all it needs memes.
No but srsly, this looks like something Nintendo would make, which is a refreshing change.

That NPC with the red hands is stolen from SDG, NPCs from SDG can not be taken from said project.
Sorry.
Squishy Rex wrote:That isn't SDG's Magiblot, trust me, I've been revamping the NPCs for it and that isn't the same one.
Emral, Superior, Sinem, you guys are all wrong. That's the magiblot I made for my CC8 level, I know that because the hands and the tileset are also from said level. That being said, those can all be found in my GFX pack, so he probably got them from there.
Squishy is right, that's not SDG's Magiblot. And andialifbatara, if you release the level, please give credit :)

I don't know, how does moss grow on rocks?
Mosses belong to a group of plants known as the BRYOPHYTES. Bryophytes have no roots, but they do have thin (one cell thick!) root-like structures which serve for attachment and water absorption. These are known as RHIZOIDS. Some kind of mosses or Bryophytes attach to the rocks by these rhizoids. Most mosses have very little resistance to drying out, and because most of the mosses are confined to areas which are damp and sheltered, some kind of rocks are suitable for them to live. In Wales, for example, the majority of the rocks are acidic in nature, and this is reflected in moss species that grow on them. Different species may occur where the rocks are more base-rich (carboniferous limestone, for example). Once the rock has the natural conditions for the moss to grow(water, acid or basic nutrients), the moss is going to attach to the rock by means of the rhizoids.

Okay but how are these coins floating. Why are there drain pipes in the desert, and why do fire-spitting plants live inside them?

The coins are part of mario's hallucination. For the drain pipes and plants: Ask the mushroom kingdom's interior designer and gardener.

Actually, the coins are attached to wires, and the drain pipes are part of a top-secret research facility, which explains the giant fire-spitting plants in them.
The palm trees and cactus are actually fake :p

There's a boss before the midpoint (indicated by the pipe in the end of this section). I'm still trying to find something else to do with the battle to make it less boring, but I don't want to make something really complex since it's the first level.

that background
hot damn
In all seriousness, this is looking pretty good, so far. No major flaws from what I can see. It makes a good first impression, which is usually what you go for with a first level.
