That would be all well and good if SMBX didn't have SEVERAL GLARING CONTENT BUGS that needed to be fixed. Autoscroll, anyone?

I'd like to stop you all in your tracks for a moment.
I'm 75% sure I have found the code, and I am 50% sure I can read it and decompile it properly to the extent that you may be able to officially update SMBX again.
I'm not making any promises though.

It's funny how immediately when someone mentions a SMBX update, people immediately start asking what is going to be added or updated as well as guessing as to what is going to be in it? It's called "Super Mario Bros. X 1.3.0.1" for a reason. It's a slight update, just be happy that Darkchao and Valtteri have done a quality update to fit in with the new board. At least be thankful for that. Don't start begging for stuff, it's annoying, one of the reasons Redigit got annoyed at the end by the SMBX Community. Just be quiet, be thankful that someone gave you something slightly updated nothing big, but nonetheless, be grateful.
Nice work Valtteri and Darkchao. Valtteri, good idea incorporating your HD sound & music packs. Nicely done, fixing those little, tiny problems, as well as doing changes for SMBX to fit into the new site.

No, 8bitmushroom, it can't. There is no possible way that exists to get Visual Basic source code from an executable. Real VB source code looks like this.

Joey is right, in fact once the executable is done, maybe only a fraction of the source code could possibly be recovered.

Correct. The .exe (executable) doesn't contain any of the original source any longer. If I recall correctly, the executable file is compiled into a series of Hexdecimal numbers. In conclusion, you can't get the source code. Think of it this way, if it was that easy then everyone could make their own version of SMBX and distribute it themselves. See where I'm going with this? Redigit might still have the source code of SMBX but who knows, I won't go there. Anyhow, you can try reverse engineering an app. It has been done in the past but well, let's just say it is not an easy cycle. You'd have to be a great hacker, a great app developer, and no offense to anyone in the community but I don't think someone like that is available.
Anyways, yes there are decompilers out there on the Internet, but they can't decompile .exe files since there is no source code anymore. They can decompile to specific offsets, as well as specific function names or specific arguments. You CANNOT retrieve any code though, so decompiling would just be a waste of time since you can't really retrieve anything, why bother?

"It can't be done" is the most ridiculous sentence in the history of everything. If I do manage to get something, shame on you. If I'm just wasting time, then I'm making a fool of myself while doing so.
I honestly don't care if I'm getting nowhere, at least it's something to keep myself preoccupied while people kill themselves on the other side of the world. Nobody is stopping me.

You might be able to get it done, but you would have to be some kind of professional hacker or app developer who has experience with reverse engineering applications. EXCUSE ME sir... but that doesn't appear to sound like you. Now if that's your choice to keep yourself pre-occupied then okay.

If you manage to obtain some form of SMBX source, 8bitmushroom, you would be a fucking legend revered the world over (hey, there are SMBX users in Europe and Asia and stuff it counts). Unfortunately, it seems pretty unlikely. 1.3.0.1 will actually be amazing though and I'm greatly looking forward to it. Thanks, Darkchao and Valtteri (and whoever else put work into this). You guys are pretty awesome.

Speaking of Screwed up things. I asked this in the Chat and Joey didn't answer me.
Will Multiplayer be fixed? It's kinda messed up.
Like
-Entering the door at the same time causes both characters to explode apart. (Annoying when your in a tight spot as well)
-Spawning on top of eachother. (Again, Same reason as the first one)
-Real Physics (Why is this even a thing in mario? I know it's common sense that you can push the other person but why not 'go' through them as if they weren't there? Now this is probably Impossible since it looks weird together.)
-Camera angles. Yeah. I know.
I know a few ways to fix these.
For the first one:
1) How about you can't 'go' through the door if something or someone is blocking the exit. Makes sense?
2) I know you can SOMETIMES spawn inside eachother but sometimes it doesn't work. You spawn on them which blocks their jump. Mostly on simple jumps which turn to nightmares. Which are 1 block platforms. Maybe fixing the spawn inside each other works better too.
3) Yeah. You can go inside eachother but that shouldn't work in Battle mode. Who evers the first player will get to be visible instead of the second player he is inside. So the second player would be covered by the first so it makes it easier to tell who is first as well.
4) Yeaah... I know. Camera is a jerk to me. A Big one. So i thought of it expanding when the players get split up. So the camera moves out and you get a blue arrow for player 1 pointing to him so you know where he is. Red arrow for player 2. BUT! If they get too far. The camera splits into TWO Screens. Not just 2 halfs. Yeah. 2 Screens. I don't think that would work but it is worth a try.
If this isn't possible. Ignore this. I tried

These changes are almost certainly too complex to implement right now, NeverEndingGamer. The most significant change here is the addition of new blocks (with no special effects, remember). I wouldn't expect any fixes like the ones you describe.

A lot of the things people are asking about simply can't be fixed that easily, if at all. Based on what we know, the most common evidence of hacking for SMBX thus far has been graphical, so why on earth is it altogether surprising that most of the updates in this hack are only graphical?
4) Yeaah... I know. Camera is a jerk to me. A Big one. So i thought of it expanding when the players get split up. There isn't a fix for this but the levels/enemies can be designed to work around it, if they're planned out for co-op. 2 player games intended for co-op are a greater ordeal to design nonetheless.
Anyway this update is excellent and I look forward to trying it out. I'd also like to learn myself how to make these kind of modifications to SMBX because I think they'll be necessary for me at some point.

There are no new blocks save for the sizeables, but they honestly don't make a difference because people use custom graphics regardless. This update is pretty much just a graphical update, and it really isn't too amazing in itself. Yes, it's an SMBX update. Yes, people took some time to work on it, but to me it honestly isn't as surprising as actual, NEW SMBX content.
I'm sure that if people were as dedicated to SMBX as they are here, they would attempt a complete remake of SMBX (this has been attempted before solo, but people are shit poor at coding so it's almost impossible to do without a dedicated team) that would be full of new features, I'm sure it would definitely ramp up the traffic and popularity of the community, as well as bring back a lot of the old members.

I knew that shit is going to happen.
Can't you guys simply get in your tiny brain, that we CANT add anything new into it?
If you guys want such stuff, make your own SMBX.
