No, he stared Terraria because he got sued by Nintendo, and he didn't want to take another risk

He never got sued. He got a cease and desist.

So you mean Nintendo wanted to have is website, and told him to end making Super Mario Brothers X?

Oh my god, I just asked a goddamn question, I didn't want this. I did not want a debate to spark in this thread.

Can someone please lock this thread? I've gotten the answers I needed, anyways.

But It became interesting enough to keep talking about it. It's a good topic to keep talking about. If anyone else has something to say....

Also to note that "official episode" refers to "official forum episode" not "official SMBX episode" iirc

Both of you guys are wrong. The SMB.org forums were shut down in early August 2010 because Redigit was tired of dealing with a community of kids. TrekWeb was started a few weeks later, and were deemed the official forums by Redigit, who released 1.3 in October of the same year. In January 2011, Redigit began work on Terraria. In early April 2011, Redigit officially announced that SMBX development had ended (TrekWeb closed around the same day), even though he hadn't worked on it in months anyway. Then, in mid-April 2011, Redigit received a phone call from Nintendo asking him to remove SMBX from his site (and, subsequently, take down all SMBX-related YouTube videos) and hand over the domain name.
XerX wrote:If you can personally get the actual Redigit to come here and state all of this is official, then that's great. Good on you. Congrats. Until then, it isn't.
It is, though. If you're not okay with it, that's fine, but it's the most official you're going to get.

It definitely does mean "official SMBX episode", but "official forum episode" isn't incorrect.

So you mean, since this isn't the "official SMBX episode" it can't have "official episodes"?

I'm not really asking for an 'official' forum/website. I just think no other place should be called official unless the big red man says so himself.

But hey, you are right. This is probably as 'official' as it will get.

Which is not still actually 'official' unless Andrew Spinks make a Forum for SMBX. (And if did make one. Look how many people will move to that Forum, and make this Forum look tiny, and/or stupid!)

You keep saying this yet you give out no definitive proof that he said this, the only thing I hear you say about it is your word on it. Redigit hasn't visited this community since 2011, he left, he's gone, he wants nothing to do with it, so I highly doubt that he would speak to you of all people and deem this forums as official. SMBX is a dead fan-game and at this point the only thing holding it up is people creating multiple fan forums, none of which have ever been deemed as official.
Joey wrote:I also, you know, lead this community. Redigit doesn't.
WINNER OF BIGGEST EGO GOES TO: JOEY!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, DO YOU WANT A GOLD STAR??!?!?!!

Joey wrote:If he ever wants to come back, great, but at this point SMBX as a program is in the staff's hands.
SMBX as a program shouldn't be in the staff's hands because you can't do anything with it. The 1.3.0.1 update is in no way official, and you don't have a say in whether it is or not. Running the largest fan-forum of this community =/= getting to deem things as official.

I don't believe Andrew saying this is his favorite means you have the authority to say it's official or can declare anything else official.

You say that as if Redigit decided to contact me one day out of the blue. He didn't. I contacted him and told him about these forums.

I do still talk to Redigit occasionally, for what it's worth.
