A name could have a plural version if it is countable and yes, fish is countable.

"Fishes" is grammatically incorrect. The plural for "fish" is "fish".

I feel like, while "fishes" may sound kind of bad and may not be technically correct (the best kind of correct), it's in wide enough use where it might be considered a legitimate pronunciation.
