Fluffiness is the most important factor in pets in my honest opinion.

People still use that word?
One fish is fish. Two fish are fish. Three fish are fish. Nine thousand fish are fish.

Technically, either is correct,

Hot damn, how do you take care of all of those at once?
And it's kind of surprising that you don't have a dog.

Technically, either is correct,
"Fishes" is not a word in my country. And even if it was a word, it's incorrect, since "fishes" is just like saying "mooses" or "deers".
But this argument is getting nowhere, so take it on in PM from now on.

A name could have a plural version if it is countable and yes, fish is countable.

"Fishes" is grammatically incorrect. The plural for "fish" is "fish".

I feel like, while "fishes" may sound kind of bad and may not be technically correct (the best kind of correct), it's in wide enough use where it might be considered a legitimate pronunciation.

This is not a thread to discuss if "fishes" is grammatically correct or not. Please get off of this topic.

Then why did you start that off-topic discussion in the first place?

Cool. I've always wanted a parrot.
PaperPlayerX wrote:Then why did you start that off-topic discussion in the first place?
At least I didn't make an entire post only dedicated to me being off-topic, because I also contributed to Darkonius's post. And besides, I never intended it for it to cause arguments, I merely said "why do you people still use the term "fishes" when it's grammatically incorrect". For reference:
Kep wrote:Darkonius Mavakar wrote:I have a white bunny named Ares.

Please stop trying to make me look bad for no other reason than to piss me off. Sorry if that sounded rude, but still.

Kep just wanted to know if anyone has pets or uh "use to" have pets. Not an English class on proper English Grammar.
